A charitable man with a deep-seated passion for helping others, Mr. John J. Gavin has maintained an interest in enriching his community through volunteer work since his collegiate years. John Gavin's interest in community service was sparked while attending the University of New Hampshire (UNH). A member of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, John Gavin found that mentoring children was one of the most fulfilling experiences of his life. Today, John Gavin continues to help children reach their potential through advocacy of youth sports. John Gavin has worked as a volunteer coach for the Shooting Stars lacrosse team, Victory Lacrosse, and the Laguna Beach Little League. He is also a part of the YMCA organizations Indian Guides and Indian Princesses, groups that promote respectful and loving relationships between fathers and their children.

In addition to being active in his community, John Gavin donates generously to charitable groups, such as World Vision, the Red Cross, Western Reserve Academy Headmasters Fund, and Goodwill. An avid history buff (he studied American History at UNH), John Gavin also contributes to historical foundations, such as the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.

In his spare time, John Gavin enjoys a broad range of activities. A lacrosse player since college, John Gavin founded the Quiksilver Men's Lacrosse Club in 2007, and he serves as Co-Chairman of the Southern California Lacrosse Association. John Gavin additionally enjoys surfing, swimming, scuba diving, standup paddleboarding, and fishing. When he is not spending time outdoors, John Gavin enjoys reading the works of Jon Krakauer, John Berendt, and Anne Rice.

John Gavin currently resides in Laguna Beach, California, where he is the President and CEO of Shoreline Networks, Inc.
