I'm a business and marketing writer who occasionally drifts over into journalism. Most of my work is writing copy for websites and sales collateral. I've also written content for innumerable email blasts, case studies, and newsletters.

My job is to make your message sing above the din of your competition. I do this by combining a love of language, a diversity of experience, and my own natural creativity. Whether it's funny, educational, technical, or persuasive, my copy will tune in to your audience and deliver your story with style.

I think creatively, and I'm not afraid to give honest feedback. One of my specialties is translating business jargon and geek-speak into layperson language. I'm also great at telling company and customer stories, as well as clarifying marketing messages.

I'm expecting my first baby in September and will be taking a few months off. I'll be back to work in December.

I'm always interested in getting connected with good web designers. My clients often look to me to make recommendations, and most of the designers I know are swamped.

I got my start working for non-profit organizations as a coordinator of various things, including education, public awareness, and volunteers.

After eight years, several major social marketing campaigns, and about a zillion newsletters, I shifted my focus to freelance copywriting and journalism. I've written for numerous companies, publications, and non-profit organizations. Samples of my work can be viewed on my website.

I've also worked as a staff writer for an internet company, a bookseller, a sales rep, a waitress, and a self-taught graphic designer. I blog regularly at ballsyblog.com, most often about my interests in sustainability, natural health, crafty recycling, and vegan cooking.
