What Joy does
I just produced an inspirational documentary movie called Flipping the Joy Switch which is all about learning to manage and focus your emotions productively. This movie includes techniques and a new model for change called the Joy Triangle Model, which helps people identify when they are in a negative spiral and behavior pattern, and gives them a way to change their thinking to be more useful.
I am available for presentations on this model, for keynote speaking, or for coaching. Shortly, teleseminars will be announced.
What Joy does best
Spark positive change. I invented a model for emotional change management called Flipping the Joy Switch which is all about learning how to tap into your joy energy and to focus this energy on purpose to create change in your personal life, in groups, or in community. We just produced a movie on this, and a Free Report will be up on the website www.joygilfilen.com shortly.
Education
My tools come from over 40 years experience. I have worked in the both the public and private sector in sales, administration, and production.
I started stirring things up in 4-H and community leadership projects in my younger years. Then I got two years of college and more real world job experience way back in the 70's to give me more skills.
This was followed by hundreds of seminars, professional and continuing education courses in leadership, alternative health, wild foods and energy medicine, marketing, parenting, nutrition, healing arts and sciences, business, investment, conference development, coaching, human potential, new thought thinking, future thinking and goalsetting.
I have trained under or read materials written by hundreds of professionals over my lifetime of work, study and research. In the last five years I have focussed my research in the current market, examining the new business models of well over 40 self-sufficient presenters speaking on trends, change and innovation. This means I have had to do alot of brain gymnastics and mindbending to get flexible enought to adapt to the emerging world.
I am a Certified Peak Potentials Train the Trainer 1 & 2 and have completed their quantum program and other similar trainings. I've received Technical courses or certifications in various business matters...such as stock options trading, real estate and investing.
I've been researching social media, internet marketing, infopreneuring and edutainment to figure out how to bridge the gap to the future using entrepreneurial community resources to take on the global challenges we face. And, I am an IBI - CEO Space Graduate of the Free Enterprise Forum.
The rest is real world experience - or hands on education.
Experience
Grew up on a farm doing 4-H, leadership and community development work. At 15 I got paid to sell ads in a regional newspaper, so I coached businesses to write ad copy that worked. Then I wrote articles that inspired readership so I could sell ads. We doubled in size in two years with only two sales reps. At 18 I was a personal secretary working with my legislator boss in Olympia to manage and increase the passion and influence of his constituency.
After college, I earned real estate and brokers licenses and sold residential and farm property when interest rates skyrocketed to 18%. I studied exchanges and investing. I managed commercial property in California where I rebuilt their office systems and fast-tracked permits.
Came back to Washington and got hired as Manager of the fledgling Bellingham-Whatcom County Tourism Bureau. I built their systems and developed a 40 volunteer, 3 site organization. Have held leadership positions in many clubs such as Toastmasters, Whatcom Women in Business, Chuckanut Sports Car Club, Whatcom County Association of Realtors, and more.
As Assistant to the Technical Director at SPIE - The International Society of Optical Instrumentation Engineers, I built a Conference Management System to increase efficiency. Then spearheaded the first two conferences held in the world that brought scientists and medical doctors together to discuss Lasers and Fibers in Medicine.
Founded and Chaired the Fairhaven 1990 Task Force - a business leadership, community visioning and resource gathering project that changed the course of history in Bellingham's historical district. People showed up for their visions, and 20 years later it is fascinating to see the achievements.
Once I moved into motherhood, I focussed on home business leadership development. I was a pioneer and trainer in network marketing. In the early 90's I became a top producer in Simplexity Health (formerly Cell Tech) building a $3.5M/yr business with 45 Executives and 5,000 members. This was done the old fashioned person-to-person relationship way. Tongue in cheek? I successfully recruited and mentored hippies to do business selling algae as a business opportunity before vitamin C and MLM was popular. That is a true leadership and coaching achievement. This was prior to the technology boom.
As a consultant and mentor with Amazon Herb Company, I pioneered development of new leadership protocols and business revisions so they could transform without losing momentum.
Then I felt the entire marketplace shift gears. It felt like there was a huge rift between old ways of doing business and the new world - like there was a sea change happening. So I started to heavily research the Internet, social marketing and internet marketing. I've studied the speed of social change, human potential, quantum physics, and how to coach creative entrepreneurs and millennials to adapt successfully to fast changing conditions in the market.
In the middle of doing that, my husband and I have raised two sons (and by osmosis a bunch of their buddies). I'll tell you what, today that is also achievement given this marketplace shift. The Millennial generation is truly challenged to face the future, and they really need the community and the business world to step up to the plate to work with them in a useful way. We have experience, they have enthusiasm and skills we've never seen before.
So, in the last couple years I have been developing a new way of working with leaders through intentional business development. It is a transition model that has a win-win-win method for inspiring people to live into their highest potential. A method where the people, the community and the planet wins too.
Intellectually, it boils down to a new cosmology that is based on the composing and decomposing nature of life itself. It works, and we can build businesses, revise companies, rework entire community structures using this as a pattern, a blueprint for managing change.
