Over 90% of People Wear Improperly Fitted Shoes Causing 70% of Foot Problems
Your pain is likely related to the foundation of your body -- your feet. What you put on your feet and how you support them is what makes your body strong - OR NOT!
Your feet are the foundation to support the entire body. There are 26 bones, 33 joints, and over 100 tendons, muscles and ligaments. Your foot has a unique design. You should understand your feet to get the most comfort and support for your entire body. When your feet feel good, you feel good!
Our feet were built to walk on natural surfaces such as sand, grass and dirt. When we walk on those natural surfaces our feet conform and get the support they need. However, we walk on many manmade materials such as concrete, asphalt, tile, and marble. These materials do not allow our feet to work naturally and ultimately cause problems on these pounding surfaces. We need to accommodate our feet in this world of manmade surfaces to create a more natural supportive environment and keep our feet and body healthy.
What you wear on your feet is critical to the health of your feet. Many problems such as foot, knee, ankle, and lower back pain often stem from not having proper support. They can be caused by the style and fit of your shoe. A shoe that offers more support, combined with the proper arch support for your feet, will put your feet back in a natural position. When you put your foot in balance, the alignment of other joints is improved. Get educated on what you should be wearing for your feet that is unique to you.
Many people don't know the technology that exists today when we evaluate feet. There are computerized systems for pressure mapping, systems that show what your arch naturally is on both feet versus what happens to you when you stand and walk. There are methods to understand what is going on with your feett, how you stand and walk, and what shoes and support your feet and ultimately your body should have.
In addition, there is amazing technology in many shoes. Shoes that can help with forefoot pain, arthritis, working more muscles, stability and balance, arch support, drop foot and overall foot support. Often times, arch support and shoe type work hand in hand to get the feet and body healthy and comfortable. This gives you more strength and energy and is important to preventing future injury.
An estimated 20 million Americans have diabetes. Many are under-educated about the importance of footwear. Diabetes can cause poor circulation and nerve damage to the feet. It is important for diabetics to inspect their foot health daily and to get fitted by a specialist for footwear. Some diabetics may qualify for Medicare Plan B, which allows them to get one extra depth shoe and three diabetic inserts a year covered at 80% and often times the supplemental insurance will cover the remaining 20%..
How you walk, what you do in your daily life, how tall and how much you weigh affect ultimately how your feet and your body feel. See what improvements can be made to your shoe wardrobe to make your body feel better.
