  • i agree that small is the new big..but i am sure that it isn't so new..

basically, one has to think big and then keep things efficient(small) to really make the bottom line fat.

love the way it sounds though.

  • well i got one step closer to getting an open source solution up and running and ready to pay today..

met with an open source guru named John Locke from Freelock Computing. he helped me define a plan of action to implement a kiosk solution based on KDE that will integrate nicely with touch screen technology. we'll see how it goes.

maybe we are step closer to ordering those T3's from you Kevin.:)

  • course, my hope is that by the time that back room pc goes rip we are swimming in so much cash we can hook up a few T3's to a Cray!

then it's time to live in the Bahamas and get paid 24/7..

  • all makes cents and dollars to me..:)

hardware savings will be nice..but it will also save us big when it comes to software..i am going to use as many Linux/open source solutions as i possibly can. so all those license fees can be invested in identifying/training/supporting quality people...

of course, the other bennie is the flexibility, agility, and rapidness of deployment which will really fuel our growth..

our goal is to attain the ability of having a new "business center" (a bit mercurial i know) up and running replete with communications and order management capability up and within 24 hours of gaining access to a "space"..

in my view, plug and play can really pay!

  • i have big plans for BiZi Bee Floral! i intend to leverage heavily on thin client solutions at some point to completely unfetter us for unlimited growth.

nowadays, one can go down to the store, buy a 64 bit computer off the shelf with 4 bundled CPU's that stomps all over yesterdays mainframe especially when you run it on Linux. am i wrong?

  • i've also heard the word Satan pronou+*n ced "Sa-tawn" i believe? means tester...which concievable could be another way to express what an adversary does..tests your strength so to speak..

anyone know ancient Hebrew well enough around to venture an opinion? i imagine the actual phonetical mechanics of Hebrew have remained very much the same as they were way back when..except isn't it possible that mental pictures (and our predispositions to forming and/or internally interpreting them) associated with the symbols/words tend to dynamicly shift as the culture encounters change. specifically, changes that occur by the interaction of internal and external forces. It seems possible that if enough of the population were simultaneously effected by event(s)then it make conditions right for a cultural fusion in attitudes. maybe said fusion would leave an anthropological impression upon the lingustics that the modern speakers would not share and thus fail to grasp some of the other meanings of the identical symbols/words.

well i'v had too much fun tonight so perhaps i'm rambling..just some thoughts....

  • lets see..got a great attorney Dan "The Man" Bronski who is straightening out my business in some key areas, then there is Tim Wu who honest to God rescued me from excruciating sciatica..Jeff Widmer just fixed my Outlook email account..seem to remember washing down some great food with awsome beer from Liberty while kicking ideas around with Dan Mccomb..even learned a little about Ruby on Rails (a real kick ass programming language).. really Biznik is a lifeline.

i resolve in 2007 to be more involved. got to start attending some events..got kind of overwhelmed with the weight of my obligations and crawled into a hole..kinda peakin' back out now..good news is Biznik is kicking stronger than ever.

    thanks ya'll, justin

  • i highly recommend Romio's Pizza in Greenwood. The owner's name is Amir. He's a client of mine. Be a good idea to buy a pie or three and split it over whomever attends. Let me know if you want me to holler at Amir to secure the venue.

  • rebecca,

i have found massage to be great for reducing tension/inducing relaxation which can help pain somewhat.

however, it hasn't ever really produced lasting pain relief for me.

i used to be a chronic sciatic/back pain sufferer. in just a few visits Tim Wu's therapies permanently reduced my pain to the point that i rarely and then only barely feel anything close to the pain i used to suffer from.

i highly recommend him to anyone who suffers from chronic pain. you really don't have to live with pain anymore.

i see he has already commented on this thread. Hi Tim! guess that saves me from having to cut and copy the link to his profile.

  • tim wu here on biznik is close to you..read the thread titled "how biznik fixed my broken back!"..

just so you accupuncture is a treatment modality used by chinese medical practitioners to to activate meridian points, open pathways within the body, and achieve control over pain...that much you already know...what you may not be aware of...the good chinese docs don't even necessarily need to use it...they can achieve even better results with their hands..

i suggest if you are tired of your pain...look up tim wu here on biznik...just be aware that his methods may not fit what you expect...but what i can tell you with absolute certainty..thanks to his therapy...my pain has been GREATLY reduced...

best of luck, justin baker p.s. his website is: www.uniquetherapy.com

  • lara,

notice i make assumptions about biznik one way or the other.. in fact, as great as this biznik is i want to see it be very successful..

still i ultimately encourage everyone do some serious honest self examination when it comes to any solution. ask yourself who am i and what are my capabilities...

this is going to determine who has the right solution for you.

there is no one size fits all solution.

i do thank you Lara, for informing us that Biznik does offer these capabilities and look forward to hearing back from Dan as to his two cents. i'm sure i'll learn a lot.

Biznik rocks! i have been telling everyone that..i personally will probably bring about 5 people a month into this every month! that oughtta tell you how i feel about seeing Biznik succeed.:)
