  • as a matter of fact Brianna Young would be a great choice for this...(assuming she isn't too busy already) she even meets your criteria..she's in school for graphic design. However, she is also a real pro. She's had her shingle out as a Virtual Assistant for some time. i'll send you an intro.

  • good luck Matt! personally prefer Zencart and will likely go that direction myself. if you need any customization work done, i highly recommend you give Andrew Sengul a shout..he is both a pro photographer and a PHP coder. He can help you stock it with nice looking products and then make any necessary mods to the cart itself to give you the best bang for the buck you can look him up in the member directory.

  • Carol,

Great article! I have seen what you are talking about first hand. BiZi Bee Floral and Gift's clients are often successful people. perhaps there's a connection.:)

  • Winnie, ask them if they need buy or sell a limo soon. Then you can give Howard a referral so he can help provide the financing. i think that is the purpose of this thread right Howard? to promote your hard to find limousine financing to limo lovin folks of Seattle and beyond?

  • well Brianna Young is a dynamic go getter who is really helping make certain elements of my marketing plan come together! Added bonus is that she is almost a graphic designer(she'll be done with school soon!) But lemme tell you she gotz skillz!

i guess your needs would dictate the VA with the right skill sets for you. Obviously, you should have them do the things that are either critical but can't get to..or the things you don't know how to do..or the things you know how to do but you could be making 4 times more money doing something else so why not pay someone who knows how and go do something else?

For the types of things you are describing may i suggest giving a shout to Rene Russo? She needs work and she's really smart. Bet she could do a real nice job on your little list. Good luck!

  • While i have little knowledge as to whether she does big corporate gigs or not, i highly recommend Beth Yockey-Jones.. look her up in the member directory...or i'll make an intro for you..

  • well whatever you pick be sure to read the fine print on the fees and how/when they charge them.

my current bank is US Bank. can't say that i am thrilled with the way they hold up my deposits..somehow the debits seems to like to go through first..also i am currently confused about how they operate off of Central Standard time.. Ever had one of those instances where you looked at your online statement and said OMG better run down to the bank and make a deposit..well the problem i have had is they do their debits on Standard time and our local branches for US Bank have hours based on Pacific time. The net effect? Overdraft fees! those things really suck!

  • I look forward to hearing this piece. It's about time Biznik is given a chance by the mainstream media. Of course, NPR always offers superior and deeper coverage than most for profit media outlets. Still, hats off to them for picking up what should be one of the hottest stories in the world of small biz.

Go straight to the top Biznik! I look forward to riding this rocket ship all the way to the exciting worlds we are about to discover together!

  • my problem is that i get scattered in too many directions.. David Kravchek had to watch me go 3 ways at once today. He was only here for an hour and he looked tired when he left just from watching me.

  • it just seemed so natural to call you Hil.:)

so Barry, do you edit your own style sheets?(isn't that the correct term to describe the file where WP looks for how to dress in public?)

  • i am trying to steer Hil to Wordpress. it uses CSS for its look so you can still get a custom look that reflects an individualized feel. but it automates SEO and makes content update a snap.

  • yes, definitely after Vday. :)

I've never sent Heather to any competitions around here yet. maybe you could share with us how to enter some of these contests. sounds like fun!

we'll have to talk about how to organize such a contest. what the ground rules should be..just to make sure people are voting on an apples to apples comparison. might be kind of fun to invite some other indie florists to it too. could be great publicity.

maybe i'll give you a call. love to chat with ya'.

    Hope your Vday rocks, Just

  • i am having really good luck with Andrew Sengul. he can set you up with a great low cost web solution..consult with you on quality content to include and put you in the drivers seat by giving you total control of your own content moving forward. you become your own web master! also he can get you 3 months of free hosting through Wave Networks run by Jeevan right here Biznik.

  • i have thought about creating a free permission based sms reminder service for birthdays, anniversaries, and important holidays..

i think it all depends..the way i was going to use my service was going to based on parameters set by the user.

if this service your describing doesn't allows it's users the right to regulate itself then it could wind up in real trouble i think.
