great article Barry!
OMG..just had a thought...so what if you could export your network into your desktop/mobile device?almost like you can export your address books from one email company to another..Ning has a feature where you can import all your contacts and send out an invite to them all..perhaps Biznik should make it possible to import and export contacts..:) that type of functionality alone could almost sustain a whole different level of supporting membership.:)
what Biznik is about depends on the perspective from which you are viewing it from.
at times it can seem really campy around here. i have been very guilty in the past of the "me too" syndrome here in Biztalk.
sometimes it seems like a giant popularity contest. But then one can say that the entire business world is a giant popularity contest. i guess where the rubber meets the road is if as a business owner we are able to convert the popularity to the bottom line.
all in all, i see a lot of potential in "Learn". I know i need all the info i can get an independant business person. Why not get some of it here? I'm already here.
well there is a biznik who is moving to that area. i am having her check it out for ya joe..
Howard is full of insights and inspiration! I mean i love sitting on the phone or even in person with this amazing biz coach! his experience firmly establishes his credibility in my eyes. when coupled with the sheer force of his personality and wit one cannot help but walk away with more after listening to his sage advice. i highly recommend this article as an example his vast knowledge of business networking.:)
lenn davis may be your videographer and andrew sengul is an outstanding photographer. they are both here on biznik. i'll send you an intro joe.
those are two very different jobs (with a few similiar skillsets). i highly recommend you pick two people for that if you are looking for a high quality project result.
you're welcome Amy! for those of you who don't know her, Amy is super talented. i have seen her in action. hire her!
i love chicks that play with fire! thanks Sarah!
Better yet maybe have the talented Amy make you a new template.:) she might be able to add a little something to the sauce to really get those puppies flying off the shelf!
Brianna Young is the girl you need to speak to. You can find her in the member directory. Just make sure to remove the miles radius restriction as she is based in Oklahoma. I'll send you an intro.
Of added interest to you Chris is she is currently going to school for graphic design. Her skillsets might really come in handy for a Web guy like you.:)
Green is going big in the floral industry! Here at BiZi Bee Floral & Gifts we are striving to incorporate many Ecofriendly concepts.
Buy local .. we are partnering with local vendors wherever possible.
Utilize green products..for us that means using as much Veriflora certified ( which are fair trade and organic flowers grown to exacting standards) as we can get into our arrangements. In summertime we get lots of stuff direct from a local farmer. We also buy recycled vases and are about to experiment with a new type of cellulose container made from recycled cardboard (they look really cool!) which is also biodegradable.
We are actively planning to acquire a Biodiesel delivery car
I just want to say thank you to our customers for supporting us in moving toward the future. Each dollar they spend with us is a vote that pushes our industry in the right direction.
Respectfully, Justin Baker BiZi Bee Floral & Gifts
Hey Karen, i've missed ya'! how have you been doll? Isn't Giannina talented? Nothing like a little Rocket Ranch Design to help your biz blast off. Now i am going to buzz some flowers like a good little bee.:)
Thanks Anita! Do you think Bizbee is a good name for him?
Rebecca i would love to have a few of your items in our store for the couple of gift basket items i know we shall sell.
Welcome Cecile! I am certain that our community will be a boon to your creative spirit. Biznik is a great way to bring a spark to your life that might just help catch your biz on fire!
well said Amy. In fact, i may just have to drop off a little something for you in salute to your strength and spirit.
And i don't think that you have to be in a relationship to enjoy chocolate, flowers, or any of the things you mentioned Amy. I am all for self love. Treat yourself folks and celebrate your independence at the same time!
Welcome Miles. I am glad to see another florist join this incredible community. who knows maybe we can get a few more of us to hop in. I would welcome the opportunity to put together a friendly little design competition. <grin>
We could even have the community vote on which designs they like best. Be a great way to promote our indie businesses and bring attention to our industry which i think is in major need of a fresh infusion of excitement from time to time.
Look forward to catching you at an event soon! Justin
Ken at KMH Limousines is the man Howie! he set us up with a great ride for our Biznik Wedding Industry event!
Also i think he is hungry for the biz right now so he'll cut you a deal. He gave Heather and I a great deal for our 8th anniversary just the night before last. He has a fantastic stretch Las Vegas addition excursion.
you can give him a call at 206-501-6945. Tell him i sent you and you in like Flynn.:)
you know who i would ask Andrew Sengul about this question. i am sure he knows the answer. good luck!
so what do you guys think of spending money to get an improved listing through Citysearch? you guys use that one or any others before picking a biz to do biz with?
love to play cashflow sometime..maybe Ruth could bring over her Cashflow and we could play some night at BiZi Bee..:)
another good lesson the bible teaches..."avoid evil and the appearance of evil."
if you are a leader you have to keep your nose clean..period..(unless you are leading a band of pirates or a chapter of the Hells Angels..maybe then this doesn't apply except in the sense of being a good example of living the values of that particular microsociety..)
i grew up in Texas Brianna. I know exactly what you mean.
My grandma was ripped off by a mechanic who had a fish sign in his window(and i think she even knew him from a church she used to attend).. and this is only one of many stories.
kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
I say that if folks want to display their faith publicly, they should do so much more with actions than symbols. But i guess folks are going to do what they are going to do.
i will say though for all my pro Bible pro Wisdom speech here.. i don't really break open the Bible for answers to business problems.
I look at my exposure to the bible as being part of how i have constructed my ethical and philosophical infrastructure.
For the most part when confronted by a problem i look deep inside myself for an answer. often times i will also seek the counsel of someone i consider wiser than myself.. i've even been known to ask the Universe for outside inspiration..(in fact thanks to recent efforts by Sierra Faye i am starting to do this more..thanks Sierra!)
