I am a painter and create new visual worlds through memories of my childhood, and travels in the United States and Latin America, space technology, and aerial views of urban landscapes. I am inspired by bodies of water--the vast expanse of the ocean. My paintings consist of different collage elements found and bought, i.e. plastic, papers, and rubber, combined with acrylic, oilsticks, charcoal, and ink. Each painting comprises many layers, to achieve a rich texture and translucency. I love the physical process -- it's like building a house with my hands.
