What Kat does
For the most complete description of my work, please logon to my website: www.fouraims.com!
Integrative psychotherapy is a quick and unique way into the psyche, the soma, and what is true and present in the moment, because it is body-centered as well as inquiry-oriented. I help clients uncover the source of their "blockages," what's holding them back (connecting past and present issues), while strengthening their ability to integrate body-wisdom and feelings with intellectual insight. Body-mind therapy is also recognized as the only therapeutic form that truly helps with the far-reaching symptoms experienced by those who have suffered a trauma or PTSD.
Because this process helps clients free up a fuller range of expression in relationship to self and others, I also attract alot of couples to counseling, as I offer practical tools for relating with a more generous spirit. On an individual basis, I help those suffering from anxiety-depression, addiction, general "stuckness," body image issues, meaning of life concerns, trauma, loss and chronic illness.
Classical yoga and meditation is still a huge inspiration in my life; 22 years as a certified yoga teacher and yoga therapist has offered the relentless reminder that Ego is not a catalyst for healing and transformation, but with courage and commitment, one can find something deeper that is.
I've created a studio in West Seattle, the Four Aims Center, where I have a private counseling practice for individuals, couples and families, work with individuals interested in yoga therapy, and teach group yoga classes where I offer individual attention For yoga therapy I use tools that bring balance to the physical/structural, the physiology (sleep, digestion, women's issues, etc), mental-emotional (inquiry into the stories that rule us and our core psychic "tensions"), and the spiritual dimension, all according to an individual's needs and interests.
What Kat does best
Anything to do with the body, energy and consciousness: unlocking emotional expression, dealing with grief, intimacy issues, trauma, addiction, body-image, anxiety-depression, feeling stuck, feeling deadened, and so on. On a more esoteric level, I create practices that refine awareness of energy-consciousness, ie: the flowering of the human soul experience. (It's actually very practical!)
