  • Thanks for your comments! As independant professionals it can be easy to get swept up in the rat race and forget we are more than our business. We are whole people and have a life (hopefully) outside of what we do to earn a living.

I'd love your feedback on the formual to assess your return on investment.

    Happy Networking!

  • Good reminder. Especially during this time when others are "telling stories" about what is going on in the world in addition to the stories of our own creation. The reality we create when we don't slow down to do the work can be quite depressing. The time we invest in reflection, investigating what is true and re-writing our story is a highly productive business activity.

  • People want things fast so Speed Networking, Extreme Networking, and Power Connecting all have high appeal and it can be a highly leveraged use of time.

Here is a suggestion to help everyone get more out of the 2-10 minutes.

Include a 15-20 minute training/discussion to set up how to ask good questions, listen, and then set up follow up.

You might role play some example scenarios both good and bad so audience really 'gets' it.

You've probably discovered, successful networking in any venue is having a clear objective, asking the right questions, and then following up.

  • Great article. Clear, concise and absolutely true. Too much of the old sales model still lingers - talking and doing, all before becoming. Respecting the prospect and the sales process is a key element in authentic sales.

  • Larry Jacobsen and I had a great networking conversation. Since we are new to hosting, we hadn't RSVP'd ourselves.

Feedback from those I invited in the local community; too short of notice.

I will know better next time.

  • Tracy, I am coming to Bend from Portland this afternoon and was hoping to schedule a Biznik event of my own while there. I am speaking for the Network of Entrepreneurial Women on Wednesday night or I would join you. I will host a smaller networking event on Thursday, 3/20 at Portello.

Hope you have a great turnout!

  • I look forward to connecting with you. I've been watching in the wings since I signed up last year...not the ideal way to utilize a networking site!
