About Kelleen

Emotions drive every action we take more complicated than a reflex. Doesn't work that way anymore; these days every one is so busy, it's hard just to schedule time to catch up, never mind trying to get help for the decisions and challenges we face.

To me, coaching is a problem-solving discipline. As a coach, I provide the support, the inspiration, the resources, the training, the sounding board, to create the life you'll...[more]

Fabulous theory that could potentially explain 80% of the conflict in the world....What we see, hear, feel, is a fraction of what our brain creates as our real experience...read on, if you dare....

"A new scientific understanding of perception has emerged in the past few decades, and it has overturned classical, centuries-long beliefs about how our brains work—though it has apparently not penetrated the medical world yet. • J.K. Rowling's Failure and Imagination Speech at Harvard

I told you on the home page of www.kelleengriffin.com that one of my favorite topics was failure.  Little did I know that one of the most successful writers of our time shares this passion with me.  Failure strips away all that is not essential, and what is left is the purest, clearest version of our self. Watch the video, here, even if you are swamped find 22 minutes and be inspired.

“You can’t shake hands with a clenched fist.” Indira Ghandi

Ever “reason” with a nine year old who wants his own iPhone? A partner who has selective hearing? Seattle Public Utilities after there was a leak underground at your house? A bank that can’t find the title to your car? A friend who is mystified about getting fired? Yourself?

Call it what you like - reasoning with, persuading, influencing, nagging, haggling - it all comes down...

  • The Owner's a Jerk....Tales From The Other Side

    By Kelleen Griffin

Okay, so I’m going to do that annoying parable thing now. There are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says "Morning, boys. How's the water?" And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes "What the hell is water?"*

  • Can We Become A Creature of New Habits?

    By JANET RAE-DUPREE

    Published: May 4, 2008

HABITS are a funny thing. We reach for them mindlessly, setting our brains on auto-pilot and relaxing into the unconscious comfort of familiar routine. "Not choice, but habit rules the unreflecting herd," William Wordsworth said in the 19th century. In the ever-changing 21st century, even the word "habit" carries a negative connotation.

So it seems antithetical to talk about habits in the same context as creativity...
