  • Annoyed By Biznik Spammers?

Anybody else noticed the annoying trend of people responding to Biznik articles, or posts like this one, with long diatribes about, and links to, their products and services?

I don't mind somebody discretely adding a link to their web site in their "signature". I don't even mind a modest mention of products and services if they are germane to, and actually helpful regarding, the topic at hand.

It's these people that make a brief comment (for appearance sake, I suppose) and then drop a paragraph about their business and finish with a link that really bug me.

    Am I alone in this?

  • My Business Philosophy. What Do You Believe?

As the owner of a graphic design and strategic branding studio...

I believe business is about people, not products.

I believe great design communicates the authentic relevance your brand has in the lives of consumers – while building emotional connections that create lasting value.

I believe that great design grounded in smart strategic thinking will give you an unfair advantage over your competition.

I believe design adds value – not just visual – and is a core strategic element in any successful business. Few things are more important.

I believe in collaboration, and that great people working together can do great things.

I believe in doing the best work, rather than the most work – and in collaborating with those who share my vision of driving economic success through positive contributions to customers and the community.

I believe in taking chances – because a business that doesn’t take a chance doesn’t stand a chance.

I believe in the power of creativity and imagination – because I’ve seen the amazing results.

    Do you believe?

  • An Open Letter To All Bizniks

    Hello All.

Just a quick "thank you" to the biznik community. I joined biznik back in August, and I'm glad I did. Biznik lives up to it's tag line, "business networking that doesn't suck". I've found this community to be full of vibrant, insightful, kind, creative, thoughtful, engaging and intelligent people. The quality of the dialogue and exchange of ideas is wonderful. The knowledge that is shared in articles, and responses to those articles, is tremendous. I've benefited from the information I've found, and the relationships I've developed through biznik.

Thank you to everyone who has read, voted on, and responded to my posts. And, thank you to everyone that has taken the time to share their insight and experiences via their posts.

We all know how the economy has been for the pat few months, but it's clear that not everyone has curled up in a hole. Perusing biznik reaffirms that small business, and the entrepreneurial spirit, remains vital, and is thriving. I am encouraged by the biznik community. Keep it up!

Here's to a peaceful, prosperous, and healthy 2009 for us all.
