CITY UNIVERSITY OF SEATTLE SIFE MEMBERS TEAM-UP TO HELP ‘CAN’ HUNGER to Support Cherry St Northwest Harvest Food Bank in Seattle
WHAT: During the period of July 25th – September 2nd members of the City University of Seattle Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) team will be hosting a food drive as part of their participation in the Let’s Can Hunger Challenge. The Let’s Can Hunger Challenge, sponsored by Campbell Soup Company, is a competition that tasks SIFE teams across the country to participate in a series of competitions focused on generating awareness about hunger, as well as coordinating local hunger relief efforts.
The City University of Seattle SIFE team is encouraging other students and local residents to support their food drive by bringing a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods, such as canned soup, canned vegetables, pasta, rice or cereal to City University of Seattle Ridgewood Plaza in Bellevue. All proceeds from the food drive will benefit Cherry St Northwest Harvest Food Bank in Seattle.
WHY: According to Feeding America, more than 36.2 million people are food insecure, hungry or at risk of hunger, including 12.4 million children.
WHERE: Food can be dropped off at the boxes in Cafeterias on campus, student lounge, front desk, and administrative building at City University of Seattle 11900 N.E. First Street, Bellevue, WA 98005
