  • Resources for how to find outside investors?

I'm looking for ideas/resources for how to get started with the process of getting a business ready to seek outside investors.

Do you know a good book or website on this topic?

Are there any local organizations or classes I should be aware of?

Have you gone through this process yourself?

  • Connections to toy, book, and baby retailers?

Do you have any personal connections to anyone who owns, manages, or is a buyer at an independent bookstore, toy store, gift boutique, baby store, or children's museum in the Pacific Northwest?

Can you think of any independent bookstores, toy stores, gift boutiques, baby stores, or children's museums in your own neighborhood?

My business partner and I own Seattle-based Wugaboo LLC, which creates children's toy and book products. We are very excited to launch our first product line, the Hugawugs, beginning October 1st. The Hugawugs are a line of board books and plush toys for toddlers and preschoolers.

In preparation for our October 1st product launch, my partner and I will be personally visiting retailers to show them the products and ask them to carry the products in their stores. Personal connections always help, so if you know someone who is connected to a store who might want to carry our products, please let me know.

Thank you for your help and support!
