Win Your Body's War Against Gravity
Learn to defy gravitational forces by decreasing three areas of stress: physical, chemical, and mental/emotional.
Whether you like it or not, your body is in a war against gravity. You need to help your body create and hold a good defense in this war to prevent fatigue, long term postural changes, and areas of pain and sag. I have learned in my profession, however, that it takes more than an adjustment to keep your defense up and running. I suggest you find ways to combat three main groups of stresses to your body: physical, chemical, and mental/emotional.
Without a doubt, the steady pull of gravity against your body accelerates aging and fatigues you unless you learn to minimize the amount of energy expended with daily movements. Receive massage to muscles that have become overworked and damaged. Muscles become knotted and stuck together with traumas and irritation. Massage will loosen the muscles enough to slide separately, allow blood and nutrients in to heal the damage, and decrease the effort you use to move. Adjustments go beyond helping to return joints to the proper movement patterns and relieve nerve tension. Adjustments stimulate nerves that help with balance and coordination and can improve your body awareness. Support new and improved movements created by chiropractic and massage with stretches and exercises . I particularly like functional training exercise because it teaches your body the proper way to move while improving strength and flexibility. Yoga is another excellent way to improve your body's struggle against gravity. Once you begin the proper resistance, consider complimenting your changes to physical stress by decreasing your chemical stress.
Improving your defense against chemical stresses is not entirely about giving up vices like nicotine and caffeine (although it does help). The best defense involves supporting the changing tissues in your body. Each person is different and may need specific supplements, but in general, everyone can make leaps towards a healthier body through alkalizing, supplementing with proper vitamins, minerals, Omega 3 oils, and choosing foods with natural ingredients. High quality nutritional supplements can be compared to airbrushing. They help fill in and cover up any poor parts of your diet. Before purchasing any supplements, I recommend taking a unique blood test that screens your body for deficiencies in vitamins and minerals. You will learn which supplements you specifically need and are worth your investment. Alkalizing the system by using a green drink is a simple way to help balance your body's chemistry. Most American diets have too many acidic components (meats, grains, sugars), and your body will balance the blood pH by pulling Calcium and Magnesium from available sources. By adding extra greens, you increase the Calcium and Magnesium available to keep your bones and muscles healthy.
While keeping your body nutritionally sound and efficiently moving, you must also consider the importance of your mind. To combat mental and emotional stresses, I recommend you seek or create a time and place that calms you. Combine a gentle body movement activity, or body work with a peaceful setting to achieve the best results. Body work/movement releases endorphins, which are your natural "happy chemicals". These opiate-like chemicals you produce relax your muscles and decrease pain sensation.
You will age far more gracefully when you have efficient movement against gravity, optimal nutritional support, and a way to let your stresses melt away. Begin your war against gravity with a few of these tips and you will become a better version of yourself.
