What Kristopher does

At The-Winding-Road we make driving fun. Our number one focus is organizing driving adventures for sports car enthusiasts. Why? Because most folks go for a test drive, fall in love with their car, and bring it home on Saturday and show it off to all their friends. On sunday they go out for a nice long drive and start to really get to know their new corner carving partner. When Monday roles around the excitiement of driving the new car to work is fresh. By the drive home, however, most folks are simply commuting. By the next weekend car and driver have slipped into a comfortable but bland relationship of going to and from work, picking up groceries or the kids, and the romance quickly dwindles to a passionless fondness. Our driving adventures put the passion back in the relationship by offering that special day out for car and driver. We find the best driving roads around, and lead you and your car on a spirited romp. So remember, if you're not driving, you're commuting. Just Drive It!

What Kristopher does best

Our specialty is highly organized "Group Drives." A Group Drive is essentially an opportunity for Driving Enthusiasts to share a single driving experience on real roads. We like to say "Real Roads, Real Cars, Real Fun." Through our extensive Road Scouting program, we are developing a comprehensive database of Sports Car Roads (roads with lots of twists and turns and few obstacles). This allows us to ensure the most enjoyable experience for our audience by leading them in exploration of the region on the least direct route possible.

What does Kristopher need?

Sponsors. The Winding Road Drivers' Club has the capacity to connect businesses with Recreational Drivers. That's people with discretionary income. We reach out to more than 1000 Puget Sound area enthusiasts every month and would love to share that reach with other small businesses. Obviously, if someone we know through biznik is a good fit for someone we know through our Sports Car Driving Adventures we'll make the connection. But we don't always know who's looking for what service. If you or someone you know is interested in connecting on an emotional level with prospective buyers, sponsoring our events is one of the most evective options available.

Education

Raised by Driving Enthusiasts, and trained by a retired professional racer, I have a long history of performance driving. However, this is as much art as science, and one must be largely self taught to excell. Consdiderable time has been spent developing an eye for the road and a feel for the corners. Recently, I completed a High Performance Driving School organized by IRDC (International Race Drivers Conference) which resulted in an invitation to go racing.

Experience

I've been participating in Group Drives since early 2001 when I bought my 1987 Mazda RX-7. Shortly there after I began planning the occasional drive. In 2003 I purchased one of the newly released RX-8's from Mazda and immediately started putting the miles on. Then, in June of 2006, the local RX-8 club decided to go for a drive. I planned the event, and we had so much fun we decided to do it again the next month. Following July's succesful drive, I committed to doing at least 1 group drive a month, whether anyone else showed up or not. Since then, I've made good on that promise, organizing events with as many as 25 cars exploring the areas twisty back roads. Over the months many regular participants asked for a way to repay me for the effort I put into planning and leading the drives. My passion for the driving lead me to refuse, but in April 2007, several of them pressed a few dollars into my hand with a simple thank you, and the hobby turned business. The Sunday Drive series was the first to launch and has enjoyed great success.
