  • Help advertising free job search series

Hey Everybody ~ I'm launching a series of free job search workshops and I'm wondering if you have advertising/promotion ideas? The topics include: resume strategy, creating your professional brand, and interviewing with confidence. This series is geared toward job seekers, 25 - 55 years old. I'd especially like to reach women professionals. The first workshop is on May 12th at the Tullly's in Wallingford.

    In particular, I'm looking for:

    1) Online bulletin boards, lists, etc. for posting. 2) Regular/offline places for posting a flyer. 3) Local groups who might want to announce this to their members, online or otherwise. 4) Any general advice about online posting and attracting participants.

Some of the online ideas I have so far are: Biznik, Seattle Times, Craig's List, SCN.org and Seattle Weekly (online).

Here's the link (the flyer is currently hard to read, but the web designer will be fixing that soon): http://www.careercounselingwithatwist.com/events.html

    Thanks for your advice!

  • Seattle Career Counselor says “hey!”

Hi Everyone ~ My name is Laila Atallah and my business is Career Counseling with a Twist.

I’m looking forward to meeting many of you. I plan to attend my first event on May 14 (How to Network this Biznik Way). I’ll hope you’ll come say “hello.”

I work with career changers and job seekers to get clear on what they want their life to look like, and find work that supports that bigger vision. I specialize in working holistically with those who crave an integration of their life and their work, as opposed to finding a “career box” -- or any other box -- to squeeze into.

People come to me for help with: self-discovery, career assessment, researching options, “transition jobs,” resumes, interviews, overcoming obstacles, self-esteem... the works!

I also work with mothers and entrepreneurs on life design and balance, time management, boundary-setting and generally creating an awesome life when you’re pulled in many directions.

I’m zealous about helping people combine passion and practicality. To me, one without the other is like a movie without popcorn.

If you know anyone who is looking for a job, my Tully’s Job Search Series is starting on May 12 in Wallingford. And, it’s free! More info here: http://www.careercounselingwithatwist.com/events.html
