First and foremost, I am the parent of three fabulous children, two of whom needed early intervention services because of learning differences. In 1999, one of my sons was diagnosed with a disability and needed special education services not available abroad (we were living in Hong Kong at the time).

First and foremost, I am the parent of three fabulous children, two of whom needed early intervention services because of learning differences. In 1999, one of my sons was diagnosed with a disability and needed special education services not available abroad (we were living in Hong Kong at the time).
During our search for resources, I realized the special education process was extremely complex and difficult to navigate. That first hand experience and my background as an attorney fostered a lasting desire to help students with special needs (and their families) to navigate the education maze.
For over 10 years, I have been serving families and individuals with special needs. Beyond making a positive difference for people using my legal skills and personal experience, the thing that motivates me each day is the opportunity to meet and work with wonderful people in and outside the office and the chance to learn something new.
I particularly enjoy the opportunity to connect with the families and students, whether sitting on the floor and playing with Legos or sitting on the couch and providing a shoulder for grieving parents. I can't imagine a more fulfilling way to make a difference.
I am licensed to practice law in Oregon, Washington and California and have represented clients in all three states. I am also admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the District of Oregon, the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
When out of the office, you'll find me and my family fishing from the banks of a river or shooting skeet with friends. I am a voracious crossword fan and reader, and enjoys doing needlepoint, a skill my grandmother taught me. And occasionally, I like to get off the ground... flying around with my husband, Greg, who is a licensed pilot.
A native of Washington, my husband of nearly 20 years and I came to Oregon in the late 1980s and, aside from a 2-year stint in Hong Kong, have never considered living anywhere else. We do, however, enjoy frequent trips with our three sons, and Lucy, a tri-colored Corgi with a big dog mentality, to the family farm where they stay busy mending fences, rounding up cattle, operating tractors and dodging the rattlesnakes and tarantulas. After a hard day's work, the we relax by barbequing with family and friends, watching the breathtaking sunsets and having a laugh watching Lucy skitter away from the small lizards that inhabit the ranch grounds.
