I also teach a couples massage class that covers the basics of Swedish massage. It's a very fun class and always fills quickly.

When pressed for a description of my work I call it "eclectic Western massage." I integrate Swedish, deep tissue, neuromuscular, and myofascial techniques to help people get out of pain. Many people come to me for help with migraine headaches, fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, and similar conditions.

I have practiced massage professionally since 1998 (full-time since 2002) and have over 600 hours of massage continuing education (as well as 1,000 of original certification training).

I'm a big fan of world music and publish a website with information on the Seattle world music scene: Seattle World Beat.

  Larry Swanson just might be the king of internet networking for all things pertaining to African drumming, dance and culture in Seattle.
  I know that www.larryswanson.com is the first link that comes up when folks do internet searches with key words and phrases such as “African dance +Seattle” etc. I teach a class that is part of one of his resource pages. EVERY NEW STUDENT I get from an internet search went through Larry’s site.
  I know that Larry maintains the most comprehensive listing for African related events available in Seattle. Sometimes even he will say, “We can look that up on my web pages to find out.” Its got to be good if the host uses it!!! I can’t speak highly enough about how broadly and generously Larry supports so many of us with opportunities and information. The gift of his expertise in this domain is a labor of love. Its community service at a wonderful far reaching level.
  

  If ever a profitable cultural and/or health related networking scenario needed a key player, I’d pick Larry immediately.

  I can’t attest personally to his massage therapy skills but as a body wellness colleague, I’m certain of his ongoing education, commitment and integrity. He’s also a mighty fine percussionist here on the local scene!
