Early Success

Lars Windhorst grew up in Rahden, German. The son of a small business owner, Lars Windhorst learned the tricks of the trade from an early age. By the time Windhorst was just fourteen, he had started investing in the stock market, which he had been watching since he was six years old.

When Lars Windhorst was fifteen he started his first global business, importing cheap electronics which he assembled in his parent's garage and sold in his father's store.

Establishing Global Connections

Recognizing the potential of Lars Windhorst, Ming Rong Zhang, a Chinese businessman, partnered with him and founded Windhorst Electronics. Within a year Windhorst Electronics had sold over $50 million USD in Europe.

In the mid-1990s, Lars Windhorst began a relationship with the former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl. Kohl supported the whiz kid's entrepreneurial endeavors by taking him on official business trips to Asia in order to strengthened his relationships with powerful businessmen in the Far East.

By 1995 Windhorst Electronics had become so successful that Lars Windhorst expanded his business further into Asia and established Windhorst Asia Pacific Holdings Ltd. The firm expanded rapidly and grew to employ over 200 people in Europe and Asia.

A Relentless Entrepreneurial Spirit

Even though Windhorst Electronics and it's subsidiaries eventually went bankrupt in 2003, due to the internet bubble burst in 2001, Lars Windhorst's undying entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Sapinda shortly after. Within the first few years of business, the investment group was able to carry out over 2 million EUR of investment in the first few years of business.

Current Position

Today Lars Windhorst currently serves as the Chief Officer of Sapino Deutschland GmbH. [less]
