What Laura does

I am the founder of WWISH. We are an online, interactive magazine for women about women. Our mission is to inspire women to move out of crisis, adversity or transition in all stages of life. We offer support and resources as well as editorial pertaining to women's issues and lifestyles. Our vision is to act as a resource provider website allowing women to participate in how WWISH evolves. We are a source of community for women as well a place to gain knowledge and resources when faced with any issue. Resources, connection, empowerment! What's your WWISH?

What Laura does best

What I do best at this point is share my passion and vision for women's wellness... physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually. I believe we all have the ability to overcome any crisis, adversity or transition and become stronger in the process. It often takes support and resources to change old patterns, leave dead end jobs, abusive relationships and conquer self imposed restraints. My experience is that women connecting with other women has an almost magical effect of empowerment. When I was 36, I left an abusive marriage with my kids. I was broke, uneducated and felt hopeless, but fortunately I was able to find resources and support that helped me change my thinking and my life. My mission is to educate other women about the possibilities!

Experience

I have a deep understanding of what it is like to feel hopeless, and what it takes to move out of adversity and into a state of fulfillment. Without the resources and support I found for my own development, none of what I accomplished would have been possible. Through my experience as a journalist and my own life struggles, I have gained insight into issues such as poverty, homelessness, discrimination, lack of education and mental illness. I know that every woman deserves to be free from whatever holds her back and become a healthy, self-sufficient, independent, thriving individual. Through resources and support, I believe anything is possible.
