Lauren Sloan received her Arts Degree from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, majoring in textile design. After university, she trained in the decorative arts under the direction of Charlotte Vettori from Angel Interiors of London, England, whose portfolio includes the private residence of Sir Elton John; the private residence of Sir Paul McCartney; the palaces of the Sultan of Brunei; and Oprah's Leadership Academy for Girls, South Africa.

After university, she trained in the decorative arts under the direction of Charlotte Vettori from Angel Interiors of London, England, whose portfolio includes the private residence of Sir Elton John; the private residence of Sir Paul McCartney; the palaces of the Sultan of Brunei; and Oprah's Leadership Academy for Girls, South Africa.

In 1994, Lauren Sloan and Brigitte Collett joined forces to create Art n' Soul, which they successfully ran together for the next 10 years, sub-contracting to Angel Interiors of London on prestigious projects, including the palaces of His and Her Majesty, the Late King Hussein and Queen Noor of Jordan; His and Her Majesty, King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan; the private residence of Charles Saatchi and Nigella Lawson, London, England; and the late John Aspinalls' privately owned animal sanctuary in Kent, England, as well as his privately owned casino in London, England.

In 2002, Art n' Soul relocated to Vancouver, Canada. Then Lauren met and married the love of her life, and relocated in 2005 to Seattle, USA, where Lauren Sloan Designs was born.

Lending from her extensive international travels and exposure to foreign culture, arts background, and the last 14 years of working with some of the best international interior designers around, Lauren offers an individual approach to design. Lauren Sloan Designs still specializes in the decorative arts and offers design and decorating services, but has now expanded to include a retail line of unique home furnishings and accessories.
