  • Should you text message clients?

Hi All, With the advancing telephone technology, and especially texting, I've found that more and more business contacts have been using this means of communication to get in touch with me.

Here's the thing: I have a limited number of texts each month (I'm more apt to email or just call). Personally, I don't contact clients, prospects, or business colleagues by text.

Is it rude to use texting in a business setting? I mean, sometimes you're costing people--maybe even your clients--money.

Just wondering if there was some sort of etiquette for this...any thoughts?

  • How has Biznik helped you grow your business?

I joined Biznik for my writing company at the end of January this year. While this is certainly not the only tool I use for marketing, I credit Biznik with helping rocket my business to the next level.

I just read a discussion about Biznik not getting a lot of media attention compared to the "big hitters" like LinkedIn. If you're interested, see the discussion here:

But here's my question: how has Biznik helped you grow your business? How do you think it compares to LinkedIn, Twitter, or any other social marketing you use? What's your advice to new members so they can get the most out of the Biznik experience?

(OK, I asked like three questions. Sorry! But I'm looking forward to the answers.)

  • Minneapolis Area Bizniks: Where are you?

I love Biznik for the ability to network both on and off line. Here's the problem: there are no events within a 500 mile radius of Minneapolis.

It's time we step up, Minnesotans! Let's brainstorm some events that will bring people out of hibernation and face-to-face for some killer networking.

What types of networking/learning events would you find useful?

Marketing instruction? Meet and greet? Happy hour? Sales training? How to grow your business?

Looking for ideas so we can finally meet in the real world and put Minneapolis on the Biznik map!
