  • Lori I love this article! Your title is absolutely on-target and just reading it provided a lovely bit of perspective for me. I appreciate your sensitive insight.

As a Recruiter my job is to interview clients and candidates, listen to their stories and ask questions to determine which professionals would fit well together and be able to further each others professional goals.

I will immediately implement some of your tips to do my work more efficiently. What would you say is the most respectful way to signal someone that it's my turn to talk? I want to be careful not to offend the people I seek to serve.

  • I agree Sarah,

If you uncover what an employee is passionate about (motivator) and craft a way for that passion to connect with and fuel your business objective, You'll have an employee who's more like a partner, committed to driving the success of the business. Love your web site!

  • Wow, this is the most powerful piece I've read on Biznik. Thank you. I'm looking forward to trying to connect a poignant personal story to my business goals. I've been searching for a way to differentiate myself from my competition, knowing that the only real difference between me and them is that I'm me and they aren't! But I've been struggling with how to communicate to clients who I am and why they should work with me. Your article has been incredibly thought provoking!

  • Thank you for recommending this book Suzette, and for all the wisdom filled comments of other Biznikers. I've been perceiving my work environment as very challenging and have been looking for something to help me find the center again. This info (especially yours Karen) has restored in me a bit of peace. Many thanks, Lisa

  • I love the idea of a introverts networking group! There would be no need to pretend we're not frightened of being the only person we know in the room. The article gives a great, creative method for a paradigm shift to overcome the fear of rejection that inhibits me from networking. (I'm still scared though, and rely on our Account Manager to do it for me...)
