good to hear, Eric! I saw a number of folks lingering in the parking lot - so much to think about and so many ideas being sparked.

Well - lots to think about regarding the venue. I did have wood fired pizza on my mind! Because of the timing I thought it good to do something food related - but am open.
Bliss, glad you can attend - and it is great to have a continuation of business building ideas, which will be my focus.
Lori
Jeckyl & Hyde is closed at 4PM on Tuesdays so we need to find another venue for this event - any suggestions?
Meredith - no kidding about Lara & Dan. One reason I like to see small business owners attend the "Networking the Biznik Way" event is to see two passionate people who took an idea and ran with it - building it into something that really IS changing the way we network.
Drew, glad you liked the event. Since we both went to the "New Word of Mouth Marketing" conference last week - we should compare notes on that too.
Hello to everyone who attended this wonderful event.
What I wanted to say and what I eluded to in the previous note (above) is that as a business and sales consultant, clients all want to know how to increase revenues and grow business.
The best way to be authentic and feel rewarded is to do this through relationship building - and in Biznik's collaborative (not competitive) environment it is so easy.
What a great bunch of folks to get together. Let's do it again soon! I think Dan and Lara would have to rate Bellingham Bizniks as fun folk!
Thanks Tshombe, yep - I get paid to consult with companies on growing their business and the Biznik principles of collaboration is something everyone can easily integrate into their business.
See you tonight!
Thanks, Brandi. I guarantee anyone's investment that they will get much more value than their dollar investment, and we will do an exercise that, if nothing else, will rock their world when it comes to abundance thinking!
Hey everyone, this is going to be a rockin event. Please encourage someone who is independent running their own business or a small business to join Biznik and attend - hearing Dan and Lara explain the concepts of Biznik and the power of the Biznik community will really inspire and educate.
Tshombe and I would love to see at least 20 more attendees - so please think of who might be interested in expanding their network through collaboration - and please invite them to attend. Call me if you have any questions - you can get my contact info through my profile, and THANKS for your support.
Molly, this is a great topic. I am a real visual learner, and when I started taking a coaching program by teleconference, man did I have a hard time in the beginning.
Then I became a telecall leader, and found great joy connecting to those NOT in my local area - so keep in mind, Biznik pals, that you could still meet people in person who are local and add in the flavor of far-away Bizniks - case in point: Fabulous speaker Michael Port is coming to Vancouver BC in a few days. I had this notion that if he could do a tele-call with Dan and Lara then a number of local (Seattle/Bellingham/Vancouver BC) folks might want the heads up that he was coming here from the East Coast to do four different presentations and workshops. The connection an calls didn't happen - however it could with other internationally-known folks.
And I have learned how to better focus when on a telecall (I have a short attention span) especialy now that I am 90 miles North of where I used to live and call in to many meetings.
Paul, I second what Tshombe said - we were all learing about communicating with others - and I loved how everyone seemed to feel successful at "selling" when the night was over - since we all do sell every day... (many people call it something else) - what most people really don't like is "bad" selling - the high pressure, sleazy stuff - and it is great to see a presentation that focuses on the admirable type of selling that is all about being an agent of change.
Your exercises were great, and I am pleased to know now how to better refer you.
Andrew, it was a pleasure to meet you and have as many laughs and just pure enjoyment yesterday. This was a short get together which worked very well. I really enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing Craig again. It really made my day! Lori
Andrew, I am heading to Seattle from Bellingham anyway so this works out great. I envision no traffic and arriiving on time - just know that if I am not, it will be commute-related.
Tshombe, I will be in Seattle on Wednesday - drat! Hope it is so great that you'll do it again...
Lori
Thanks Tshombe - it will be action-packed and the intention is for everyone who attends to leave with 1-3 new (or renewed) ideas for their revenue increase successes!
great photos, fun time! it was JUST the break I needed!
I've changed the date of this session so that anyone interested can get to the "Company Party" event that Biznik is sponsoring in Seattle on 9/25.
Tshombe, this was a great event. Thanks so much for your slide presentation and great tips and strategies on more effective ways to connect with others and grow personally (and in business) than how many people typically think networking is about.
The term itself is a broad topic, and like sales, which is my forte', people make sweeping generalizations and common errors. Thanks again. The venue was fun and it was a nice time.
Trina, this is a wonderful read. It has inspired me to blog today about gratitude. Looking forward to finally meeting you! Lori
hi Tshombe, I've cancelled attending an event somewhere else to come and hang out with you and the rest - looks like a fantastic group. I know that you are being a bit dramatic with the title - I see some strong, successful connectors in this list. It should be a lot of fun.
Great tips, Lori. I've been a paid blogger for more than three years and know that sometimes I feel un-motivated. You wonder who is really reading your blog, and then someday, out of the blue, a new client will come along because of it - OR someone will thank me and say that they've read my blog for a couple of years.
It seems that so many of us are looking for instant gratification that we don't see the value of investing our time in things like blogging.
thanks for the reminder and the tip.
Tshombe, I am so fortunate that you were the very FIRST Biznik person I met when I relocated to Bellingham. You are a gem of a person and resource. Who knew you could convey such a great message in print?
Absolutely agree with you, Zita, and others that many of us sabotoge ourselves with the words we choose. Just think, you can pick ANY words in the whole world and listen to yourself next time to hear which ones you have used.
In building your own business or in being a sales professional, feeling good about who you are and the value that you offer is pivotal to your success. I've seen hundreds of people who got training, or coaching - but couldn't move forward because they were petrified - with negative messages and lack of confidence.
Check out the "Asset-Based Thinking" movement on Facebook - two books to really look into are "Change the Way You See Everything" and "Change the Way You See Yourself" - little shifts for a big difference!
Lori
It will be great to see you all there!
oh, sounds like such fun!! I will be at a non profit event.... enjoy!!
hi Brian, I would love to attend the next one as well! GREAT topic and market segment - hope all is great with you,
Lori
Thanks for all the comments everyone. For those of us who had to be out of town (on business, not even vacation..) I was bummed and am looking to get "tid-bits" of takeaways on who to get to know, and what to check out.
If there is another place on the Biznik site that has more - video, session details, etc - I'd love to see that.
