  My Aunt Lynn is one of the reasons I became a writer myself. Her prose, newspaper articles from Hawaii, letters to my grandmother (her mother) -- complete with sketches of whatever she was doing -- were a source of inspiration, as my Grandma Bertha and I would sit at her bar/table in Winneconne and read. I went away to study literature and to learn how to write ... and I did. Newspaper reporter. Marketing collateral editor and writer. Curriculum developer. Always the prize got bigger and bigger -- but was never quite as fulfilling as I thought it would be. Never seemed to match the joy that I thought my Aunt Lynn had. And then she returned to Wisconsin, to her roots, to take over my Grandma Bertha's place on the lake, in the woods. She kept writing, and I kept watching. And I still watch, and think "How can I get back to Wisconsin and do what she does." If you get a chance to take a course from her, DO IT!
