What Mark does
My goal is to create and/or assist projects that reflect my long standing interest in social entrepreneurship, fostering inclusiveness, prosperity and wealth creation, and community building. I have spent twenty years working with government, nonprofit, and private sector groups in the arts, environment, housing and social services. I have worked with the media, and coordinated conferences, meetings, forums, and festivals. I facilitated a Community Outreach Program for the Frye Museum. I am particularly interested in business projects that involve social enterprise development, communications, marketing, public art, and/or inter-agency collaborations.
What Mark does best
I am a supporter of local economy movements and a resource on the development of green, sustainable, socially responsible, energy efficient businesses. I am a practioner of effective nonprofit organization and capacity building. I am a resource in the development of social entrepreneurship curricula for liberal arts academies. I am a historian of the social enterprise movement. (Connected to social entrepreneurs worldwide, started the first municipal social enterprise initiative in the US, co-founded the first social venture fair in the US. Original Board member of the Social Enterprise Alliance) I am a connector and developer of the big picture in social change. (i.e, how we evolve from a society based on inequity, constant unchecked growth and controlled by global corporatists to one that's more just and accessible, grows sustainably, and is more locally based and controlled.
