Puget Sound Housing for Parkinson's Disease (PuSH for PD)
The mission of Puget Sound Housing for Parkinson's Disease is to develop the first of it's kind, vibrant residential living community and learning center for people with Parkinson's , their families and care givers.
Assisted living and nursing facilities are ill equipped to manage the complexity of Parkinson's Disease. Finding a care residence that can provide both good physical and mental health care, as well as a stimulating environment that is respectful of PD residents' abilities to stay active is nearly impossible.
In 2002, Wendy Holman began recruiting others who had a personal or professional tie to Parkinson's. These like-minded people became a core group that eventually became Puget Sound Housing for Parkinson's Disease PuSH for PD.
The most immediate need for PuSH for PD is the donation of items, packages, services, or gift certificates towards their silent auction for the Annual Fund Raiser, Garden Party & Auction on September 26, 2009. If you are interested in making a donation, please contact me and I can give you an Auction Donation Form or the name and phone number of the Procurement Chair.
