Martin J. Gofberg, JD is based in Long Island and New York City with a National ADR practice. He is an Approved Mediator for the New York State Supreme Court, New York County, Commercial Division and has been selected to be on the original panel of Mediators for the N.Y. County Supreme Court, New York County Matrimonial Mediation Pilot Program. He is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator since 1997. Mr. Gofberg has been an active practitioner in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution since 1981, with a professional ADR practice specializing in the areas of Commercial Mediation of business disputes, Partnership Disputes, hostile groups mediation and facilitation, Divorce, Family, Child Custody mediation and Peer Mediation in the schools, as well as being nationally recognized as an expert in the area of Securities Arbitration and Mediation. He was invited to be a fellow with the American Bar Foundation in 1999 (one of the highest honors bestowed upon an individual by the legal profession,) and is a member of the American Bar Association, Business Law, Family Law and Dispute Resolution Sections. Mr. Gofberg is a member of the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation, and the New York State Dispute Resolution Association where he is an elected Member of the Board, and is a Co-Director for Region 1 (New York City and Long Island) is currently a Co-Chair of the Ethics and Standards Committee, and is a member of the Original Certification Committee, which is developing the certification program for mediators, and he is a Regional Co-Leader for New York City/Long Island in the development of the certification program, as well as the NYSDRA Government Affairs Committee; he is also an active member of The Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York, in which he is an elected member of the Board of Directors and its current Treasurer and Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee. Mr. Gofberg is a member of Association for Conflict Resolution of Greater New York. Mr. Gofberg is a former Chair of the Associates Committee, of the American Bar Association, Section of Dispute Resolution.
