I run an organization at Garfield High School called "Our World, Our Change" or "Our World" for short. We serve as a springboard to help positively-directed youth pursue their projects. Right now some of our projects for Garfield include:

-Settting up a viable map of carpool opportunities for Garfield students, in lieu of our yellow bus system being cancelled -Building a club government for our school

We also run a large project outside of Garfield called, simply, "The Notebook Project." We bought a few sketching notebooks from a local company, put some rules in them, and passed them around four...[more]

We also run a large project outside of Garfield called, simply, "The Notebook Project." We bought a few sketching notebooks from a local company, put some rules in them, and passed them around four schools in the area to see what art we managed to collect, and the social paths that the notebooks took. Now, we've placed a notebook inside the emergency shelter at YouthCare, a local adolescent residential treatment center, to help the youth express themselves.

Right now, we only have students at Garfield High School, but we are hoping to expand to other schools in the area soon. One of members, a german exchange student, took the idea of the club back with him to Frankfurt this summer, so we're going to be working on setting up that branch.

On top of that, there are numerous other projects I would like to launch this summer, from youth-supporting art galleries to think tanks and more... [less]
