Melanie acquired a B.A. LL.B, law degree in 1979, qualifying her to practice as a barrister or solicitor in the United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa. This degree is similar to a JD in the USA. Melanie served a rigorous two year articles of clerkship, where all facets of law are practiced under the guidance of a principal attorney. She was admiited to the practice of law in the High Court of South Africa in 1982. Melanie has almost thirty years of legal and business working experience.

Melanie is based in the USA and has relinquished the practice of law for her passion:- non litigious modes of dispute resolution. Through professionally facilitated dialogue and crafted suggestions for solution, parties are most often able to reach resolution and settlement. Melanie's services include the highly specialized realm of corporate and individual conflict control, establishing protocols and identifying dynamics to mitigate conflict before costly escalation.

Melanie also consults on international and transnational settlements before and during litigation. She has worked with clients in the USA, Europe, Asia, Souh Africa, and Israel.

Melane is the founder and owner of Private Courts, LLC, a mediation and dispute resolution firm based in Marin County, California. Her clients travel from around the world to this extraordinary destination. She is also available to travel.
