About Michael
I retired in 2006 from the science and environmental education faculty of the University of Tennessee, but not from work in science education. Now I'm doing adjunct teaching, evaluations, and writing. I retired with 37 years experience in education, which has included teaching at the elementary, middle school and high school levels as well as work in science museum education, school administration, and state-level curriculum supervision. I've published some 20 books and chapters in books, and my latest book is Teaching Constructivist Science, K-8: Nurturing Natural Investigators in the Standards-Based Classroom (2007, Corwin Press).
