  • Looking for some techie women

Okay, I need some advice or referrals to some techie women that really know their stuff. I’m an “expert” in a pretty specialized area (women’s earning issues- I run the Women’s Earning Institute) and I am trying to launch what I am calling a virtual Earn Your Worth program, but I think I need some help, and I can’t figure out how to search for it. I want a woman (because this program is aimed at women) who can help me think through how to best teach women/ create on-line communities of women/ market to women on the web. I’m about to drop a lot of money on some web development, but I’m hesitating because I’m afraid I’m missing something (don’t really know what I’m doing?) and my awesome web developer is doing what I tell him to do. (Yes, yes, the blind are leading the more technologically advanced…. Perhaps not a good scene.) Is there such a thing as a consultant who really gets working with women on the internet? I think I would feel better if I could show someone what I was doing.

  • Anyone giving any money to charity from their business?

I'm debating giving away a percentage of my business income (from my "virtual earn your worth program" for women) to a charitable organization. Since I run the Women's Earning Institute, I'd like to find an organization that helps women "claim their power" in some way. I'm thinking of Dress for Success, but does anyone else have any ideas? Is anyone giving away a percentage of something to charity/non-profit? It feels like a win-win, (win for me in possible PR and general feel-good stuff/karma, and obvious win for the organization etc.) but I'm trying to think through all the ramifications. Any thoughts?

  • How to Set and Raise Your Rates Seminar, for women

Hi Gals, On Friday, June 8th, I'm doing an all day seminar on how to set and raise your rates, in Seattle. The link is here: http://www.womenearning.com/how-to-set-and-raise-your-rates-with-confidence/

Sorry guys, this seminar is for women only. It is best for women who want to explore both the emotional side of charging people money as well as the practical side of HOW to do it. And it's for women who charge primarily for a service, not a product.

I've had several people ask me to post this, so here it is. Yeah Biznik!

  • What I really need is office space! Help!

I’m getting tired of monitoring Craig’s List! Here is what I need: I need full time office space to see private clients that is either large enough to hold a group of ten people or has access to group space. (My needs may be similar to a therapist—they see private clients and run groups.) Ideally, I’d love office space near the Roosevelt, Wallingford, Fremont etc neighborhoods, because so many of my clients come from the North, South and East of the Great Highway, and I live in Seattle. I want to stay away from downtown—too expensive and hard for clients to park. Anyone know of anything? I’m open to sharing a group space, though I need my own office. I was close to renting an office in a converted house, where I’ve used the “living room” for some of my groups, but it fell through. Ideas? Mikelann@womenearning.com 206.634.0861
