What Miriam does

My business is helping you get the right parts of yourself to show up at the right time in order to have a successful and balanced business and personal life. Making these changes can be much easier than you think. The Voice Dialogue method I use in my private practice as a counselor and teach in workshops through The Voice Dialogue Institute allows you to quickly and easily refocus your energy in a way that is embodied, real, and lasting.

Being in business calls on you to bring all your gifts and talents to the table. First and foremost are the skills, services and products you offer. But, a challenging aspect of business is that the part of you who knows how to do what you do isn't necessarily the part of you that knows how to sell what you do or organize what you do or effectively present what you do. Success comes through being able to access all of your potential, all of the facets of your personality beyond the ones you're already good at.

Here are some of the discoveries that come through the Voice Dialogue process: * Finding out who in you is in the driver's seat of your life, who's running your business, and learning how to have conscious choice about that. * Becoming aware of what part of your personality has been presenting your business. If you tend to be too heady and lose your audience or get petrified in the spotlight, Voice Dialogue can help you "master your energy" so people feel you're solid and congruent and they believe what you say. * Allowing your relationships to bring you profound teaching and satisfaction. If relationships with your business partner(s) and your customers/clients are less than harmonious, that can drain energy and profits. And if relationships are stressful in your personal life, that undermines your source of support and nurturance when you go to work.

At the Voice Dialogue Institute we teach practical workshops that help you turn the worst part of relationships around so that they become a source of empowerment and growth. A recent participant in our Deepening Connections weekend commented, "I would have a hard time choosing one most meaningful part of the workshop. I have been walking around the last two days in a state of awe at the subversive, quiet efficacy of this method. In all the inner work I have done, both with traditional therapists and in meditation, I have never encountered something so deeply clarifying."

That "deeply clarifying" method is the Voice Dialogue process that I use in my private practice as a counselor in Seattle. It is a gentle, non-judgmental approach that honors all of who you are and helps you to change and grow without giving up any part of yourself. I see dramatic changes in my clients in a surprisingly short amount of time.

Miriam's specialties

I hold a deep respect for you in your life process. My best tools are my intuitive ability and practiced imagination that help me perceive the inner dynamics of both business and personal challenges.

Education

My whole life has been an extraordinary education. I grew up going back and forth between Greece and Missouri - perfect training for the work I do now helping people find and hold balance between opposites in their inner and outer lives.

I graduated with a BA degree from Oberlin College in 1967, but the training for the Voice Dialogue counseling and teaching I do has come through the singular opportunity for the past 25 years to learn directly from the originators of this method, Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone, in California. Like many people who come to personal growth and consciousness work as a second career, I have opted to learn one of the leading edge modalities not yet offered in academic degree programs.

Experience

I have more than 25 years experience as a counselor, Voice Dialogue facilitator and teacher, and am a senior faculty member of Thera, Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone's institute in northern California.

I am also the author of The Voice Dialogue Facilitator's Handbook used worldwide as the basic textbook for learning the Voice Dialogue method. Along with Cassandra Cosme De Pree, I am a co-founder of The Voice Dialogue Institute in Seattle where we offer practical workshops in energy awareness and training in Voice Dialogue facilitation. You can find us at (http://www.thevoicedialogueinstitute.org). For the past 15 years I have also had a private practice as a counselor in Seattle offering Voice Dialogue sessions and Voice Dialogue Sand Play sessions for adult individuals and couples.

In the early '70's I was cofounder of a women's counseling service in Brunswick, Maine. I went on in the early '80's to work with Robert Fritz, teaching the courses he developed on creativity in your life process. I taught advanced classes and teacher trainings as well. In that same time period I also graduated from Ohashi's Shiatsu school in NYC and taught there for a number of years as well

I see all of these diverse experiences as centered around awareness, presence, and developing consciousness. I bring all of who I have been to the work I do today.
