Scanner for Line Drawings

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good scanner that can handle small line drawings? I need to scan in some of my miniature illustrations (most of them are under 2 inches). They are thin black line drawings and I need to scan them in at a high resolution to create vector outlines in Adobe Illustrator.

Any recommendations would be really appreciated!

Licensing Illustrations

Does anyone know the process of licensing illustrations? I have a portfolio of designs/illustrations that I'd like to sell to various companies but before I approach them, I'd like to know a bit more about the process.

Do I need to hire a lawyer, or is there a book/article out there where I can learn how to do it myself?

Fabric Designers/Manufacturers

I am looking for a fabric designer/manufacturer. I have been designing some beautiful patterns/designs that I would love to get printed on fabric or even woven into fabric - both for interior design/home accessories and fashion design/clothes. Right now I am in the process of finding people who can help me get started with that new business direction of mine. I am also interested in getting some custom rugs designed and pillows manufactured. If you know of anyone in this industry, please let me know!

E-Commerce - Which Solution should I pick?

I am designing an e-commerce website for a client. Right now we are in the process of finding an e-commerce solution to implement. Our developer suggested Shopify.com. We looked at their website and overall are happy with their services/features, but in order to decide which one we want to pick, we'd like to compare a few more.

Criteria: - Secure Order Processing - Retail and Wholesale - Credit Card (Payment Gateway) - Low monthly fee - we will start with few items per month but expect the amount of SKUs to go up quickly - Fulfillment center (maybe)

We have a flash component and a back-end database that needs to be part of the final site. Also content management back-end is needed to easily update content as the content changes.

Anything else I should consider?

Illustrator/Flash Designer

I am looking for an illustrator with flash knowledge who can do a visual design for a flash based website that targets 6-9 year old girls. I have a wireframe of the design/content but need someone to make it look cute.

What's the easiest e-commerce solution?

I am looking to add a shopping cart to my fashion design website: www.nadja-haldimann.com. It's currently just a wordpress blog. Does anyone have experience with e-commerce solutions that are easy to use?

Pet sitter needed!

I have a cute little Chihuahua and need a pet sitter from 12/24/07 to 1/2/08. He is a really good dog, very low maintenance and good tempered. He gets along well with people and children, cats and dogs, although I'd rather have him in a place without large dogs since he got attacked by a large dogs over Thanksgiving when he tried to drink water out of that dog's water dish.

He is used to company and sleeps most of the time. I'd like to find someone who can be with or near him for the majority of time.

Looking for Clothing Manufacturer

I have been working on a bunch of fashion designs over the last year and am finally ready to get some of my designs manufactured, BUT I can't seem to find local manufacturing resources.

I am looking for two things:

1. Short term - I need to get about 50-100 dog coats sewn to fill orders at local pet stores. If you know a local seamstress who can crank out high quality work on a budget, that would be a great start. Better even, a local apparel manufacturing factory.

2. I am looking for a professional manufacturing factory (preferably in Seattle, but LA would be okay, too) to get several different clothing pieces made. (Skirts and Jackets to start out with.)

Any referrals are greatly appreciated!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a newsletter creation software?
