What Nancy does

I teach and encourage people who didn't grow up with computers to become more confident, comfortable and happy while mastering their PC or Mac. They make their own list of goals, then I arrive at their home, keep them in the "driver's seat", sit by their side, and coach them to learn new skills, find solutions for computing frustrations, and transform computing time into a truly positive part of their lives. It's all about them. My clients prefer to learn in their own space, on their own equipment, at their own pace. I focus on the human more than the machine, although I'm happy to work through hardware and home network malfunctions and clogged operating systems to keep things moving along.

I also help parents who are panicked when they find their young children have been approached online by possible predators and professional adults who are panicked when they are leaving their longtime workplace and realize they will suddenly be adrift without an IT department to protect and support them.

What Nancy does best

Explain computing concepts in understandable terms, simplify learning of computing skills into manageable segments, and encourage computing users to push beyond their perceived barriers to get the most out of their computing time and enjoy it more.

My patient, calm approach is especially appreciated by people who are relatively (or completely) new to computing, seniors, and those who have been away from a computing environment for a while.

My clients also appreciate my ability to help them integrate all the digital doodads into their lives - ipods and other music players, PDAs, digital cameras, external drives, even the programmable thermostat in their home.

What does Nancy need?

I need a presentation or class room with a built in wireless network and space for up to 30 people with laptops.
