I teach American Sign Language classes to hearing parents who use it with their hearing babies to communicate before speech is possible.  Normally developing hearing babies can express needs and wants such as "feed me", "change my diaper" and "my ear hurts" through simple American Sign Language vocabulary up to a year before their vocal chords are fully formed and fluent speech is possible and this greatly reduces everyone's frustration!

  I attended a class recently and couldn't say enough great things about it. I also am an early childhood educator and was amazed how a skill as valuable as baby sign language could be learned easily and with lots of laughter. Her ability to understand how BOTH adults and babies learn is rare, such a treat. Nancy has the perfect combination of optimal education and ability to make it easy for anyone to learn and to carry the learning home in a realistic way. Her Laminated Roo-minder Ring Instruction Cards, to be posted around the house, are brilliant.

  I wanted to go back to class and I have no baby! My husband and I heartily recommend this. Children's language and musical literacy, I have found, are easy at this age and most families simply need information. Thanks, Nancy! Keep it up and I still think of some of your hilarious comments, as well as several signs I relish using already.
