Posted Nov 07, 2008 When The Going Gets Tough...Small Businesses Fail: 10 Common Mistakes by Jean-Pierre Ruiz
Thanks JP Lots of good information. What do you think about the having too much money scenario? I ask because some that I have spoke with believe that just because they have more money that one can increase success by spending more. I did this in the past myself Only to find that it was money wasted since I was not as sharp the second time as I was the first time out.
Also what do you think about personal relationships? Money is great but I don't think that I ever purchased a thing or service because of the qualities of that service or product. It was the feeling that I got from that person, idea or product was the important factors.
Finally, What are you thoughts about the SBA data? Can the statistics be taken as too general? What are you thoughts about some business no matter how great of a product or idea is the company still fail?
Thanks...nike

Depending on what you are doing will dictate whats the best approach. If you are Chief and Chump, a free standing computer would be the best way to go but as you grow going to a server would be my best approach.
FYI I would avoid any PC related approach since the MAC are better suited for the idiots in all of us when it comes to computers. I have a PC at the moment but am about to migrate to the MAC simply because I can blog, update my website, run multiple computer, all from the comfort of one simple laptop. The best things is that is 100% wireless making the idea of going out and contracting with some overpriced IT pro useless in my case. On the other hand IT guys are better for large companies. Just a thought!

Posted Aug 12, 2008 Looking for corporate gifts by Sarah Brand
Sarah
Warning a little Self Promotion :)
Have you tried travel gifts? 3-day trip to locations around the country and it only cost about $20 each. They are better than a pen since no one really needs another pen and you know that the location will be a cool place that does not suck.
Check out the link to my website to learn more.
One final thought, my husband uses the gifts in his massage therapy business to thank some of the more "generous" clients for their patronage and you know, he keeps getting good new clients from these people

Posted Aug 12, 2008 can you recommend an e-newsletter program? by Ondine Constable
Ondine
I use to send all types of e-newsletter until realizing that very few people read these things if there are long and have no way of connecting me to a product, service, or mission.
Before you use CC or any full scale system, find out what people will read. I get about 10 newsletter a week and only read about 2.
Personally I use Newsletters vary sparingly and only when I have something important to say. Otherwise you run the risk of having most of all your hard work go to the trash or junk file.

Hi Erin I love this idea. It is such a wonderful way to create a buzz for people like us without all the official junk that comes with other organizations. Further I love your nomination categories. I realize that this is your idea but is there a way that I could try this idea in NC. I would be happy to totally give you credit in whatever way possible.

ok. We will be doing it again in April but I'm unsure of the date yet and the location. They will move around the city and region as more folks learn about how this works very well for business and family.
