Hello! My new blog site, Coffee, Art & Ambiance: http://pennywight.wordpress.com is a similar forum to this biztalk topic "Coffee Break".
I'd love to carry on conversations between my blog and here with anyone interested! I've also posted my blogs on my Biznik profile (Penny Wight) so you can see if any post rings your bell.
I am particularly interested in the folks I see here who are pairing coffee and great chocolate! Penny
So you have a product that people keep saying you should sell on-line; for example in my case, my really tasty, made from scratch Buono Lavande (lavender mocha/gourmet chocolate). I also have permission to sell (on-line as well as in my cafe) a local artists' beautiful, antique African trade bead jewelry. How, When, Where and Why would I expand from serving/selling a great product only in my shop to selling it on-line? Ideas? Input? Things to study/read? People to meet? Examples of other folks' experiences? Your experience? Cautions? Skepticism? Encouragement?
One day, on our beach just north of the Hood Canal Bridge, before Starbuck's existed, I thought it would be fun to start a business in which I could serve up good coffee, conversation, books and music. Instead, we moved to Edmonds, WA and I continued in education for which I had a masters degree and varied experience. Then, I found myself between School Principal positions, pondering a lovely unused building and garden space on property owned by my dad - in - law, creator of Wight's Home and Garden Store in Lynnwood. Back into my mind popped the business of coffee, conversation, books and music! And here I am today, five years later, pulling perfect espresso shots, shooting the breeze with customers, supporting local artists and musicians and generally having a good time! If you want more detailed information about me and what I can bring to the Biznik table and what I need help with, I just updated my profile to better tell who I am. I'm looking forward to meeting you on-line and/or in person! I'd be interested to talk here with folks who have left a profession to start a new small business -- the joys and tribulations.
