  • It's a fine line between paying for the professional services you need and spending too much at the start of your business so as not to have the cash on hand that you speak of. Clarifying this line is where a professional in business development can truly be of service! I've made many a mistake in this arena and know first hand how important a business plan, marketing plan, and a business spending plan are!

Thanks for the great reminder Jean-Pierre.

  • Great Marlene! I agree re: needing assistance ourselves... therapists see other therapists, right?! At least I hope they do!

    See you Wednesday!

  • Thanks Diane. Yes, I once wrote in a blog about clutter, and the same is true for paper, that once there is more than one, they start inviting their friends over to have a party -- not so fun once it's over and clean-up time is calling.

I'm glad to hear you're going to schedule the time. Sometimes having a clutter/paper clearing buddy to trade with can help keep the commitment, for both of you. JUMP IN -- you'll feel so good once you do!

  • Thanks Amy! Yes, getting rid of the excess paper can be a great lift all on it's own -- crazy how it snows us under. Keep it up! You're worth working the process all the way through to an amazing workkspace that reflects your talent and all that you want for yourself.

  • With the economy making many of us a bit anxious, it's important to feel inspired, now more than before. How you feel about yourself is reflected in your workspace. Turn the tables and create an office that shows how great you are and what you're capable of. The Law of Attraction is real. The Workspace Refresh is a physical manifestation of this amazing energy focus.

I have seen this process work for myself and many of my clients over and over again -- no hocus pocus, simply clarity of thought, spirit and action.

  • The power of women! I'm excited to be a part of it. There is little more nurturing and empowering than female energy united.

I look forward to meeting and connecting with many of the amazing women I know will be there.

Just to let you know, the Workspace Refresh is an opportunity to not only get organized and out from under the piles in your office, it also involves beautification/ style inspiration and energetic transformation to get you jazzed about what you're doing, where you're working, and bring your goals to fruition.

So happy to be a part of the WWish kick-off.

  • WAHOO! Is right. I'm still jazzed about both days. It was kind of crazy coming home after the party last night and realizing I needed to function day to day in my biz again. The conference had taken my mind so far into the world of "Possibility" that the "daily grind" was in another continent. SO... next steps to make all the awesome ideas a part of daily reality -- one To Do at a time. I'm also looking forward to staying in touch with the many great folks I met.

    Cheers! Piper

  • Susan,

What a clear and helpful article! My friend and colleague, Juliet Sander passed this onto me -- she is a business consultant helping me find the right copywriter for a couple marketing projects. Your article has taken the fog out of my needs and how to find the best person for the job. It also reiterates the true value of a good marketing copywriter!!

  • Thanks Betsy for the inspiration for so many of us. I really appreciated the photo idea on the cards and follow-up notes, as well as Zita's baggy idea. Personal and good professional connection is made eye to eye, being yourself with each other. The photo can really help re-ignite the energy of the original contact, and the reason for staying in touch. I'm going to put it to use.

  • After 10 years in business and creating a growth plan, this is exactly where I am -- clarifying who my customer is, and is not. I want to believe that anyone could benefit from my services, but not everyone wants to. So, being in a "luxury" service industry (integrated interior design), I'm thinking the questions comes down to who really wants my services, who truly believes what I do will make a difference, worth paying for, in their life.

Thanks for the great article Stacy -- exactly what I was needing to read!

  • It's nice to see the interest in this event. I will host it again, likely in early December.

The cross streets for My Day Office is Elliot and Broad, just accross from the sculpture park and the Spaghetti Factory.

Curious about the map -- Tacoma -- yipes!

  • Hey Frank,

Thanks for your comment. I think keeping our offices clean, organized and working for us is difficult for almost everyone -- including me (I have to work the process for myself all the time :).

Hey, the date and time my still not work for you, but just wanted to clarify that the location is in Seattle (right across the street from the Spaghetti Factory).

    Thanks again for chiming in!
