The annual fee I was referring to was doing business in five states and if another particular state would require me to pay an annual fee if I traveled there to work on a project. I have been researching between starting an LLC or a S-Corp. Some of the reading I've done on an LLC says that some states may charge an annual fee. I am considering selling some of my work through an online store. I am curious if selling my work in other states would have the same effect as working in other states. I would only have one person in my company. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can and understanding LLC. If you have any information on an S-Corp, I would appreciate that also. I am also considering my exit strategy. So that if I decide to leave the business, I would rather sell it than just drop it. Some of the reading I've done says that I need to add a statement to an LLC paperwork so that if and when I decide to leave the business it remains open to whoever it goes to or is left with. Hi Howard, Great article. I used to do audits for a manufacturing plant, and my mentor would tell me to not write-up everything, to leave some for the external auditor to find. The same thing when evaluating a good speech in a speech club; people want to improve and I learned to always find something any speaker can improve upon. Our nature is "what is in it for me" and is a good concept to keep in mind, especially when I'm writing down the benefits to my services. Thank you for the article Howard. Have a great day!
