  • Urgent-Power of Attorney Question

    I have a power-of-attorney question.

If someone goes to the office supply store and gets a basic power of attorney (and a health care directive for that matter) fills it out with two-three witnesses and has it notarized is that all you have to do to make it 'active' or does it/they need to be recorded anywhere (courthouse?)?

Also is there an attorney on here in the north end (Marysville, Everett, Lynnwood, N. Seattle) that is knowledgable on elderly people with dementia and all that it entails legally (I dont know at this time if an attorney is needed but I want to have a few names on hand just in case.).

    Many thanks!

  • 2 Quickbook Questions

I have 2 Quickbook questions that have been bugging me for a few years!

1 I have a product list some of which we dont offer any more. Because a product was sold (even just once) Quickbooks wont let me delete it. Instead I have to make it inactive.

I will never offer these items again. Is there a way to delete that item(s) permantly?

2 Customers who have ordered once several years ago and never ordered again.

How can I permantly delete them?

    Many thanks!

  • Affiliate Marketing Questions

I have a few questions regarding affiliate marketing.

I am seriously considering implimenting an affiliate marketing program and since I have zencart as a website I will be using jam/jrox.

I can have up to 50 users for free so I am going to start with that.

Now I would like to have affliates that are in a similar but non-competing business that are also well established and have good website traffic.

What kind of questions should I be asking and how do I screen for potential affliates to make sure they are a good fit?

  • Looking for local dog trainer that does private sessions

Hi all. Im looking for a local dog trainer that does private sessions. The first one I found has too many personal things going on (we had a hard time coordinating schedules) so she referred me to some one else. At this time the second person has not returned my phone calls.

I live in Lynnwood and need either an evening visit(s) or weekends.

It is not an obedience issue per se but more of a 'too rough/playful when company comes' issue!

  • Microsoft Word 2003 Problem

I have been using Microsoft Word 2003 for a couple of years. It is my default for creating emails in Outlook (not sure if this is a problem or not).

Now all of a sudden whenever I need to use Word it wants me to open in safe mode. Once I do that I can browse back and find a previous document to open/re-edit.

When receiving a Word document via email I cant open it. I have to save the document, then open Word in safe mode, browse back to that document to open it to see what is says.

Why did this happen? And more importantly... How do I fix it?

  • Can I ask for Word-of-Mouth?

This is totaly not business related but it is charity related and it is important to me hence my post!

Those of you who read our blog on a regular basis (www.countrymeadowsoaps.com/blog) know I have recently volunteered my time to a local (Puget Sound) dog rescue.

This rescue does NOT actually have a shelter but instead fosters our all rescues into actual loving homes until a permanent home is found.

I know we can't save the world but if I (and we) can do just a small part in helping/saving some of these dogs then we are the better for it.

The only thing I am asking is for you to spread the word about this rescue. For the first time we have had to turn away dogs as we didnt have any more foster homes available and even now we have a couple of dogs in dire need. (please see here:http://www.countrymeadowsoaps.com/blog/?p=682).

For more information please see: http://www.lastchancepetrescue.org/

If this post is not appropriate I appologize in advance.

  • Twitter Twacking and Twemes...Im confused

I recently started Twittering and as was mentioned to me you can also (somehow) track using key words for specific content.

I dont see a way to do this via my Twitter controls so I went to twemes.com but am unclear on what to do next.

How do I track for specific key words so those Twittering about said subjects show up?

  • Need printing/printer help

Disclaimer: I dont do well with technical difficulties and get major frustrated from the get go.

I have several labels that were created for me and are in a pdf format. They are all created in the very same way with only the text changing from sheet to sheet... so by theory when printing they should all print the same.

    They do not.

Most are ok but Im having difficulty with 3. It appears that too much ink is being put onto the paper making some of the text blurry or nonreadable. The ink bleeds into the white areas. I can tell when it comes out of the printer (inkjet) that on the colored area its very wet...more so than normal.

One label I was able to use a different print/paper setting and got it to work but Im still having trouble with one other. No matter what print/paper setting I do there still seems to be too much ink being released. I have done every paper/print combination there is to no avail.

Why is this happening? If you have 12 labels all created the very same way in the very same program shouldnt they all print the same? Why is ink being dumped on some yet on others it has a normal ink flow?

What am I overlooking? I know it must have something to do with my printer settings but what? I am at a loss at what to check next.

ps. I have already cleaned the printheads so that is not it. pss. ALL the labels print FINE on PLAIN paper. Its just when printing on a special waterproof paper that Im having trouble.

  • Data Feed???

Ive been asked this several times and yet again today so I figure I had better find out what/how to do this!

I have a few good people who I dropship for (which means they sell our products on their website and I ship it out).

They want an easy way to download our products via either date feed (no clue what that is) or ftp (do I really want to give someone access to my cpanel/ftp???)

Also instead of right-clicking a picture then saving it to their own computer to upload on their website is there an easier way other than sending them an entire photo file (which would take forever to send)?

    Anyone have any 'how to's'?

  • Bouncing Autoresponders...

In order to let customers know that their email made it into our 'in box' I have set up an autoresponder letting them know that their email has been received and we will reply asap. I personally like auto reponders as it at least lets me know my email is not floating around in cyberspace somewhere.

This is the first time I have had this particular issue:

I sent off an email. Their autoresponder replied/my autoresponder replied/their autoresponder replied/etc....to a total of 12 responses.

I use is there anything I can do either in Outlook or in in my cpanel that will prevent bouncing autoresponses??

  • Help! Someone is spamming me/outlook express help

The last couple of days Ive been receiving spam email from this one company/person....having to do with gold (eyes rolling)... I just delete it. Now it appears this same person/website is spamming me with my own product!

I dont really want to post publicly what the email says in case it contains sensitive material (that more spammers can use!)

Im using outlook express... how do I block them from reaching my inbox???

  • Name Secure - How in the h*ll do you transfer domain?

Ive been very frustrated with Name Secure for over a week.

They have no contact information (that I can find) whatsoever on their website other than a form to fill out. It takes them well over 48 hours to get back to you and the reply is a 'form' reply...not a personal one.

As of today, they still have not answered my question!

I sold a domain name so I went into my account and changed the contact information etc to reflect the new owner. I did not change the server info because at the moment I dont know what hers is (this url is going to be a redirect).

Im assuming she will now have to create a Name Secure account but how do I actually get this domain out of my account and into hers????

Money has been paid so I feel responsible to get this taken care of asap.

I have once again emailed Name Secure but its going to take them until early next week to get back to me.... something I find totally irritating.... I would prefer a phone number so they can talk me through the process!!!

    Any suggestions?

  • Do REAL men use......lotion???

My company caters mostly to women.... although we do have a collection that is great for men also(Umoja) as it is unisex in fragrance (soap/cream).

In order to have more 'man stuff' Im in the process of developing another collection that will be scented specifically for men (no frilly froo froo scents here)....

Soap is a definate but Im in a quandry whether to add lotion or not.... My husband loves the creams in the Umoja collection but I dont see him very often using lotion...

is lotion not a manly thing? is a smaller (2 oz.) cream better? does it depend on the scent? does it depend on the packaging (the more manly the better????) do men have no interest in anything other than soap?

I have no problem just offering soap (will be three of them) but if men really do use lotion or even cream then maybe I should offer that too?

  • Feds drop interest rates again...how will this affect.....

Hubby and I are planning a MAJOR remodel come Jan 2009....hence my watchfull eye on the interest rates.

Last night the Feds dropped it 3/4 of a percent with more to come...... Im keeping my fingers crossed that the interest rates will stay low long enough so we can obtain a construction loan at a good rate...(we would like to start construction in the spring 2009)

Anyone have any insight/guesses on the economy/interest rates and just how long before they start to go up again??
