I'm looking to connect with other self-employed women who are dealing with issues surrounding work and pregnancy. I already have a five-year-old, so I've done this before, but I'd love some support from people who are in a similar work situation!

I used to trade for massage and it was AWESOME. I'd like to do a straight trade, preferably with someone in the Greenwood or Capitol Hill area. I'm a kickboxer, so no relaxation massages for me, just straight-up painful deep-tissue. I'd like something ongoing, and preferably once every couple weeks.

It's getting frosty out there, and so we've moved our workouts inside! Now is the perfect time to try out this super fun class. It's great for all fitness levels, and all you need is some water and a yoga mat.

My alter ego, Miss Candy, is this year's Washington State Ms. Leather. I'm doing a fundraiser for the LGBT Center for Health, and you all should come! It's going to be really fun...here's the details:
When: Sunday, August 26th, at 2pm Where: Cal Anderson Park in Capitol Hill, by the fountain Cost: $10 suggested donation ($5 if you wear hot pants!)
There will be free food and drink, raffles for great health-related prizes, a boot camp class (for those who wish to sweat) and a grand prize for the winner of the pushup contest.
Questions can be directed to me! Hope some of you can make it!

...for a great community project! I was one of the fitness coaches for the Rainbow Women's Health Challenge (sponsored by Verbena) last year, and the new one starts in September. It's six-month long program involving 20 women who want to change their lifestyles to become healthier, less stressed, more informed, and carry around less weight. The position is paid and the commitment is fairly minimal (Wednesday evenings 2 nights a month, and some administrative stuff). It's a really great program. If you're interested, let me know and I'll pass your name on to Houston, the woman in charge!

I'm starting a side business of home gym design. I have a lot of know-how about equipment and training, but not much in the design deparment except a knack for sizing up available space and an architect father. I'm looking for someone who'd like to discuss the possilbility of going in on this with me as a contracter (meaning it's my biz and I pay you for your help) on any projects I get. This is all very much in the fledgling stages right now...I don't have Bill Gates knocking on my door or anything. Talk? Over lunch? I'll buy!

I've had two meetings this week with Bizniks, and it's been great getting to know some new people! It's nice to know that the issues I deal with as a self-employed person are shared by others...sometimes I feel like the only perfectionist self-depracating work-a-holic out there!

Just got this URL from someone in my boot camp class...looks like fun to me! I'm Ren Caldwell, fitness guru (harhar), and my site is www.renfitness.net.
