Upon graduation from the University of Utah School of Business with a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Richard Surber chose to continue his education and entered law school in 1994. Richard Surber earned his J.D. from the University of Utah School of Law in 1998 and thereafter carved a unique path in law and business. Wielding a membership in the California Bar Association, Richard Surber practices on a limited basis, applying his knowledge of corporate law to his publicly traded firm, Nexia Holdings, Inc. With several years' experience guiding micro cap companies through complex legal transactions and bringing them to the trading floor, Richard Surber assumed Chief Executive and Financial responsibilities of Nexia Holdings in 1998. Richard Surber oversees all internal and external operations, personnel management, marketing, and accounting of the various concerns of Nexia Holdings and has diversified the company as a formidable presence in the real estate, beauty, fashion, and retail markets.

Developing additional interests for Nexia Holdings to pursue, Richard Surber created a subsidiary, Green Endeavors, Ltd., in 2005 to operate in the field of spa treatments and hairstyling. Now traded on Grey Sheets (OTC: GRNE.PK), Green Endeavors affirms Richard Surber's objective to make Nexia Holdings a world-class investment opportunity with a multitude of independent, self-sustaining divisions. Companies run by Richard Surber include clothing manufacturer and retail store Black Chandelier, Aveda partner Landis Salons, and various commercial real estate interests of Nexia Holdings.

Employing more than 70 employees in the Salt Lake City region, Richard Surber plays a crucial role in a down economy.
