Robert Shindell has held numerous leadership roles in the field of higher education throughout his 13-year career. An expert in organizational management, strategic planning, and business development Robert Shindell successfully established career centers at the University of Toledo's College of Engineering, Midwestern State University, Texas Tech University's Rawls College of Business. Through his work at Texas Tech University, Robert Shindell helped launch the Rawls College of Business Career Management Center to number 28 on BusinessWeek's 2007 list of the top 50 College of Business career centers.
Due to his considerable success with the Rawls College of Business, Robert Shindell was appointed to the position of Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services. In this role, Robert Shindell successfully reversed negative trends in enrollment, student diversity, and academic quality by employing a number of sophisticated techniques, including the strategic use of financial aid, the formation of complex statistical enrollment models, and the expansion of existing engagement efforts at high schools and community colleges. Through his work, Texas Tech University saw a 15% increase in applications, including a 40% increase in applications from the historically under-represented African-American and Hispanic populations. Texas Tech University also saw a 10% decrease in admission rate, demonstrating a more competitive and academically skilled new class.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Robert Shindell's career is seeing students he has helped find success in their lives and careers. As such, Robert Shindell works diligently to foster an environment of academic and professional success. To this end, Robert Shindell actively supports PRIME for Life, a nationwide alcohol abuse education program. Robert Shindell has sponsored this program at more than 20 universities across the United States.
Robert Shindell possesses multiple academic degrees, including a B.Ed. in Education from the University of Toledo and a M.Ed. in Training and Development from Midwestern State University. Robert Shindell is expected to earn his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Texas Tech University in 2009.
