  • Getting RealPlayer To Work on Your Mac

I posted the following article to my blog at http://bit.ly/pRyHR over the weekend. Hope this helps someone.

Problems playing content with RealPlayer on your Mac? Try configuring to receive content via HTTP only:

    1. On the RealPlayer menu, click Preferences.
    2. Click the Transport icon.
    3. Select the Use manually configured RTSP and PNA transport Settings check box.
    4. Click the Configure button.
    5. Under RTSP, clear all boxes except HTTP.
    6. Under PNA, clear all boxes except HTTP, then close the Transport Preferences window.

This may degrade image quality somewhat, but it does fix "socket" and "transport" errors in many cases. I had to do this on my own computer to get RealPlayer to work.

  • Customer Management Solutions

Share your experiences with contact management and CRM solutions here. What are you using to keep track of your network, prospects and customers on your Mac?

Personally, I have been using Marketcircle Daylite for over 10 years (www.marketcircle.com). However, because I'm growing my business virtually and can't predict what type of computer my contractors use, I have chosen to use SugarCRM (Community Edition for now). Since it's web-based, I can host it on the same account as my website, and access it from any computer that has a current web browser installed (platform independent). So far, I'm pretty impressed with it.

The company SugarCRM (www.SugarCRM.com) makes the software open source, which means that the source code is freely downloadable. They also offer a Community Edition for free (no support from the company, but there is tons of community help out there).

Let us know what you are using and what advantages and limitations you are finding.

    Russ

  • Olympia W&T Locations?

While we are now doing a weekly Walk & Talk in Olympia Monday evenings around Marathon park, we are considering doing an additional Walk & Talk at Noon on Tuesday or on Wednesday...

    Maybe Tumwater Falls loop?

Any feedback would be appreciated. Happy trails!

  • Walk & Talk

I have created Walk & Talk events for this coming Monday, April 27, and May 4. The May 4 event is listed here, but because I created the April 27 one before this group was created, I am providing the link here:

Note that the venue has changed to Marathon Park.
