Sam Wainhaus resides in Spring Valley, New York, where he is a respected member of the scientific community. Working as Group Leader II in the Department of Exploratory Drug Metabolism at Schering-Plough Research Institute, Dr. Wainhaus advances the cause of scientific discovery and improves the health of the world through his development of innovative medicines and medical services. Leading a team of six fellow scientists, Dr. Wainhaus' work at Schering-Plough Research Institute draws upon his many years of scientific drug metabolism study. Dr. Wainhaus focuses his research on the area of MS/MS for pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiling. Aside from his lab work with the Schering-Plough Research Institute, Dr. Wainhaus has participated in numerous scientific papers. His published scientific work covers a diverse range of subjects, such as using UPLC-MS/MS to better understand exploratory drug metabolism, high throughput hyphenated MS techniques for pharmaceuticals, ultra fast liquid chromatography, and the discovery of novel orally active ureido NPY Y5 receptor antagonists. Dr. Wainhaus is a graduate of Brooklyn, New York's eponymous Brooklyn College, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Wainhaus relocated to Illinois, where he attended the University of Illinois for his Ph.D. in the same field. When not seeking ways to improve lives, Dr. Wainhaus is active in his local community as commissioner of the Rockland Jewish Softball League.
