I made a joke that I was going to build my own commercial kitchen if I could not find a better facility for my Daughter and her Husband to rent for their catering company. I made a joke that I was going to build my own commercial kitchen if I could not find a better facility for my Daughter and her Husband to rent for their catering company.  One year later we opened the doors to Creative Kitchen Works LLC in Renton with one month under our belt and we are 85% full.  This was a joke, then an idea and now a reality... I still have to pinch myself sometimes.  My hobby has now turned into a great facility for food preparation companies and a great back drop and springboard their businesses.  
During the day I am an ocean export manager for a freight forwarding company so going to the kitchen after work and helping prep for upcoming events or doing some cleaning really balances out my day.  The people that we have brought in are the best!  They take care of the kitchen like it is their own and I want them to feel that way.... I have my own side business where I am a wedding coordinator/ florist so I would like to retire in 10 - 15 years and do this full time but who knows what I will be doing next. 
People ask me why I am so ambitious and always getting into or doing something.... I can only say that having health issues in the past where I could not even work has taught me to not sit by and wait for good things to happen, make them happen.
