  • Recommendations for a Good Business Attorney?

    Hi all,

I'm in the process of starting a new web hosting and development business, and I need help drafting some contracts. Specifically, I will need the LLC agreements, the contract between our company and the client, and a contract to use between our business and another business that will be referring work to us.

If you have an attorney who you've found particularly top notch, then please send them my way! If you are an attorney who can do this, please contact me with your rates, etc.

    Cheers!

    Sarah

  • Best (Free) Software for Organizing Photos on PC?

I have a Mac, and as such, I'm a whiz with organizing my photos in iPhoto.

One of my clients, an architect, is seriously in need of photo organization software. She has multiple sets of pictures of before, during, and after remodels. I want to integrate them with her website.

What's the best way to organize these on PC? Your favorite software? Should I just use folders?

Integration with Flickr would be doubleplusgood.

    Cheers and thanks in advance!

  • How do I change which card Biznik is billed to?

I recently changed account numbers and want to have Biznik auto-bill the new account (the old one is now closed, and I don't want to lose my supporting member status). When I go to my profile and click the account tab, I am given the option to downgrade my account, but not to switch my account number.

Please add a "switch account" feature! Also, let me know what I can do in the meantime.

  • Hey n3rdz! Need MS DOS Help!

How do you get into an MS DOS Terminal when in the BIOS on a SATA RAID configured machine? I need to copy a driver from a CD to a floppy in MS DOS mode so that I can install the driver while I install Windows. (And why the H - E - double hockey sticks would Windows still require a floppy disk to install drivers?)

    I'm a MAC user! Help!

    :) sarah

PS-- Slipstreaming is WAY above my level of knowledge, so please don't tell me to do that unless you are willing to come over here and hold my hand :)

  • WANTED: Programmer for CMS OFFERED: Fire Show

    Hey,

My fire troupe, spinergy arts (www.spinergyarts.com) could really use a site with a CMS. As it stands, only a couple of the members know enough HTML to update the site, and I would like to make it so everyone can update.

We could trade a fire show (or two) for you, or fire dancing lessons. The trade would be $ for $.

I am accustomed to designing websites that are backed by a CMS, and would like to work closely with you. If all goes well, I will most definitely throw clients your way!

Drupal knowledge a + or Ruby on Rails

  • I need a CPA in the near future.

Not right now, silly. I'm filing an extension. I know you're all busy this time o' year.

I need someone to coach me through a bit of IRS nonsense. Are you the right person for the job? Can you recommend someone to me? I need a half hour in person or over the phone.

If all goes well, I intend to hire you to do this year's taxes for me next January.

    Cheers,

    Sarah

  • What do you think of my possible new business name?

I went to the business naming workshop because I have been stuck on that issue for quite some time now.

I don't want to name my business "Sarah Johnson Design" because my name is so generic. Also, there is another Sarah Johnson who snapped up the .com name.

I've been going by incombustible design, but it's quite long and often misspelled (incombustAble).

So, the new name is "Wonderdraw."

What do you think? I already snapped up the domain.

  • Any Digital Camera Nerds Out There?

Give me a digital photograph, and I will crop it, flip it, morph it, and otherwise make it work with a design.

That said, I've always been interested in actually creating the pictures I work with. I'm in the market for a digital camera, but I don't know where to start. (I mean, I know basic, good camera features, but I'm looking to take my knowledge to the next level).

    A few of my needs/wants:

~High Resolution ~Easy for a No0b to use, but enough features that it will "grow with me." ~The ability to vary shutter speed. ~Between $200 and $400 ~Compact ~Big preview screen ~The ability to take video footage would be nice, but not necessary.

Any suggestions? Do you have a digital camera that you deem indispensable? Do you have one that is a total Albatross? Let me learn from your experience!

    Thanks Lovelies,

    Sarah

  • What is your approach to time management?

I have a sudden influx of work, which is wonderful, but it has me thinking about how I manage my time. I am looking to put some new systems into place to reduce stress and better work on projects contemporaneously.

So, Bizniks, what has and hasn't worked for you? Is there any software (Mac Especially) that has greatly improved your workflow?

I am especially interested in hearing stories of how you have dealt with sudden increases in workload.

Some of the best advice I have received is to remember that "You can't do it all yourself." It's a simple idea, but one oft-forgotten by indie business owners.

  • Any interest in a poi or hula hoop workshop?

Well? Does this sound like fun to you?

We could spend an hour making hula hoops and then I could teach you how to use them.

    AND/OR

We could make sock poi and I could teach poi basics.

If there is enough interest, I will teach the class. There will probably be a small materials fee for this one.

  • Seattle Memorial Temple Fundraiser - May 24

    Hi All,

I wouldn't normally post an event to this forum, but I just finished some designs for a project that is very close to my heart, and very close to many of the Seattle Biznik members: The Seattle Memorial Temple. www.seattlememorialtemple.org.

We are having a fundraiser at 7:30 pm on May 24, at the Rendezvous. Here are links to the flyer-- hot off the press!

    http://www.spinergyarts.com/images/templefundraiserfront.png http://www.spinergyarts.com/images/templefundraiserback.png

I would love to see you all out there. If you would be willing to put a stack of flyers out at your place of business, please contact me directly for distribution, or meet me tonight at one of the following places:

    Between 7pm and 8pm at Victrola Coffee -- 411 15th Ave E, Seattle, WA (206) 325-6520

    -OR-

Between 8:30pm and 12am at the Stumbling Monk-- 635 E Olive Way, Seattle, WA (206) 860-0916

I'll be the one carrying around two big-a** boxes of flyers-- probably clicking away on my laptop to finish more temple design-y projects. I may make a quick appearance at Liberty tonight.

    Thanks,

    Sarah J.

  • Mac Users-- What do you use for accounting software?

I am looking for accounting software for mac. I need it to be able to generate invoices and purchase orders, as well as keep track of my personal and business accounts. I want to be able to sync with my online banking as well.

Quickbooks is very expensive, and from what I hear, the Mac version is less than stellar.

Quicken doesn't have a version for mac that handles invoicing/purchase orders.

Help! I don't have a lot of money to spend on this (<$100), but I really need to start keeping better track of my finances.

    Thanks!
