  • Last minute print jobs? Who's local with good quality & turnaround time?

    Help!

Where can a girl get great (at this point I'll settle for good) business cards and posters printed within 24 hours? I usually get moo.com cards, but ran out and need something similar soon.

While yes, there's always Kinkos, I've had too many problems with them and would prefer to go with a local shop.

They've gotta be Downtown Seattle or northward (Fremont, Green Lake, Capitol Hill, etc.) and within the city, too, since I'll have to pick them up.

Thanks ahead of time for the suggestions!

  • Setting up for my promotional marketing workshop @ Vivace.

Looks like I've got a couple of interesting folks coming.... And I'm trying to patiently wait for the meeting in the room I reserved to break so I can finish setting up. If anyone's in the neighborhood, come on by!

  • Offered: Office Visio Pro 2007 ($500+ value) Wanted: Accountant, tax advisor, or business planning.

It's a long story, but I essentially have this expensive, unused, and (from what I've heard) kick ass piece of MS software called Office Visio Pro2007 (check it out on Amazon.com). From the sounds of it, it can do virtually anything for your office (except get you coffee). I, however, am a Mac user and Exc. Director of a tiny non-profit.

Tax time is nearing and I really need to figure out my two sets of books--personal, and the non-profit. I don't think either are that complicated, and I've kept a lot of receipts, and my bank has my entire history of transactions on file. I just need a guide to getting my finances organized for the IRS.

Or, I'd take some business planning help. I'm trying to forecast numbers of users and revenue--and I'm not sure what is realistic.

Let me know if you're interested! Thanks!

  • Ack! I need a volunteer to come to a concert with me tonight!

My volunteer had something come up, and I need to find a last minute volunteer to come with me and to The Fray concert at Marymoor Park tonight.

I run a small non-profit organization called Knowledge As Power, and we're building a system to help citizens track legislative information (bills that will become laws) online, and communicate effectively with legislators.

The promotion at the concert is fun, we're under a tent, thousands of people will walk by, we'll talk to some of them, hand out a few flyers, have a few sign-ups.

It'll be fun. And I'll buy you dinner. And give you a ride there.

Did I mention we have to leave Seattle by 3:30 to be there at 4 PM? Wanna come? Give me a call. 206-909-2684. Thanks, Biznik!

  • Working @ Zoka. Want to join?

Rainy Seattle days call for working in cozy coffee shops with warm drinks and a wi-fi connection.

I'll be at Zoka (the Tangletown/Green Lake location) from 12:45 to 2:30-ish today, hopefully planted on one of the comfy chairs.

I'll be the blond woman in a bright blue hoodie. While I'll be working on my laptop a lot, I'm also up for a good conversation on technology, politics, non-profits, whatever. :)

    See you there?

  • Buying Custom T-Shirts--Where to print small batches locally?

    Hi,

I run a small non-profit and I'm trying to do a bit of promotion for the non-profit organization. When working for clients, it's easy to order a batch of t's or they have them on hand. I, however, am head of a bootstrapping non-profit and figuring out how to run t-shirts has become a challenge.

I'm not interested in buying t-shirts from anyone, since I can buy wholesale from American Apparel (and I'm hoping to get them for free). I do, however, want to run a small batch of t-shirts with the option of running many, many more in the future (If they prove popular, I'll use them as a fundraiser.). By small batch, I mean 10 to 15 t-shirts.

I've already called B-Bam and the costs per print (plus having to buy t's at retail) were too high ($40 for the first T). We're looking to do a print with our image, a black text with small two-color square image. I've called a few other places, but their minimum was 40+ ---too much, too soon.

Does anyone do small run screen prints or another type of t-shirt printing? The T's don't have to last forever, so ok-quality is ok with me. Though we're happy to pay for a good value, we're also able to give tax-deductible receipts for in-kind donations (who wants a tax deduction??).

    Thanks!
